1973 L reg Bond Bug 700ES. I have known this Bug since the early 80's. nbsp;almost as long as my membership of the excellent Bug club and numerous Bugs owned. Was first bought at Alex Thom's (Cardiff / Newport  Reliant sealers) and eventually went all the way to Chepstow ! Well used and scruffy. nbsp;then kept in storage for the last 20 years. One of my collection of too many projects. so offered for sale in mid-restoration state. Much done. much more to do. Bug stripped down last year and various bits replaced (rear arms. suspension bolts. pedal box. interior trim. bezels) from my Bug salvage stock. Chassis (original) had some welding done (body-off. chassis upside-down) many years ago. That is still very sound. but the rear cross tube has rotted. like they do. so needs replacing. Bodyshell is good. with just minor work done to rear arch corners and a small battlescar at the front repaired. I also filled in shelf-speaker holes with fibreglass while the body was upside down. Extra coat of darker paint mostly removed. nbsp;respray obviously required. Mounting points for the canopy could be better and the canopy itself needs work ; usual problem with rusted metalwork inside. Lock present but needs repair and key. Windscreen and rear glass present. Upper side-screens only. lower side-screens and hockey sticks missing. Original seat trims. headrests and engine cover. etc. from another Bug. still in reasonably good condition. 100mph speedo with 50K miles on. Pair of Dunop D1 alloy wheels (similar to Exacton). B70ES engine (hydraulic clutch and correct backplate) and gearbox for rebuild. stuck at rings/liners after standing so long. Or use those Bug bits to convert a Reliant 850. Likewise will need new brake cylinders/pipes/shoes. etc. and front brake backplate. Tank useable and new stainless straps. Steering box needs a weld to one mounting point in the casing (common problem). or spare Rialto box available for rebuild. No exhaust or seat belts. thrown away. need new. V5C registered to me since 1998. Cash only. no swops or part/exchange. no timewasters. thank you. Inspection anytime. Located in Newport Gwent NP19 near M4 junction 24.
