An amazing and eye catching 1972 round arch 1275 MG Midget that has been subject to a large amount of work and money to bring to this standard.  Presents extremely well and draws crowds like none of my other cars.  I have just spent just over £1100 on a new fuel tank and carb restore as well as service to bring her up to full MOT standard (picked her up yesterday).
I haven't had her long - a present for my partner who unfortunately didn't see the nostalgia of this beautiful little car in the same way I did and has demanded something more Germanic with 6 cylinders so she has to make way for garage space.  OK. so to the purist. the colour is not original (I have registered the colour with DVLA). the alloys are not wire wheels and the bumpers are not there but she does look amazing especially as virtually everything is new.  This is not one of your £3-4k rot boxes!
The chap I bought her from (mechanic) had carried out the following work (in his words):

'This classic car has had full restoration to a modernized electrical standard. I have paid around £7000 into this vehicle on a full rebuild of the running gear including:
Re-paint in Aston Martin Silver Birch (colour used on the DB5)New Brake system (from pads to drums to slave cylinders to the master and lines)New clutch reservoir. lines and slave cylinderNew minilites with brand new tyresNew wheel bearings all aroundNew diff oilFuel senderNew electronic fuel pump and inline clear filterNew exhaust to original 2-1 manifold (looks like stainless steel to me)New pancake air filtersNew electronic distributer and 8. 00mm HT leadsServicedNew washer pump and jetsNew cables and linesNew control boxNew battery and clampA refurbished cylinder head and new gasketSports steering wheel. nbsp;Repainted dash in gloss black with new gaugesNew carpets throughout including bootNew door cards and interior panelsNew roof and fittingsNew quarter window seals. door seals. and boot sealsNew upholstery with MGB seatsRewired front to back with slight upgrades such as a voltage stabiliserNew ignition barrelNew wing mirrorsNew badgesNew period reg platesNew grill and surroundNew Mg door kicksNew MG mud guards'Unfortunately there are no invoices for the new parts but they are there to see.  I do have the invoice for the £1100 I have just spent as well as the new MOT.  The car had not been on the road since 1992 according to the DVLA so I cannot even verify the mileage but she does drive very tightly with sharp gear. nbsp;steering. clutch. etc.  I drove her 60 miles yesterday on country lanes and a dual carriage way (that was an experience) without issue.  When I got home. she leaked a little water that I will get fixed at the local MG dealership for the new owner.
If you're looking for a great (not concourse) round wheel arch Midget (most desirable I am told) that has had a great deal spent on her then she is worth a visit.  I have been told to ask for £6500 but just want to clear her.
