Very reluctant sale of a very usable example of the iconic TR6. This car is not a concours condition car (and the price reflects this) but she would benefit from paintwork as the underside/chassis are solid. I have only owned the car for a very rewarding year. and the following upgrade work was all carried out by the last previous owner (except the seats). Following is a brief but honest description of the car:
History:Folder full of history including DVLA previous history check. Lots of receipts for previous work carried out and all the upgrades. MOT's back to 1988 (Car will be sold with full years MOT)
Engine:Rebuilt engine to standard specification. including upgrades to allow her to run on unleaded petrol. Injection system replaced with new twin SU's manifold etc. (runs great on these carbs and a lot less maintenance involved compared to the injection system).  Lumeniton electronic ignition system fitted. Oil cooler fitted with spin type oil filter. Exhaust manifold wrapped - exhaust is a stainless steel twin tail pipe system - sounds great!Runs good oil pressure when cold and hot. coolant temperature always constant even when sitting in traffic in current hot temperatures.
Drivetrain:Gearbox is overdrive on 3rd and 4th. Box is a bit notchy to engage 3rd. there is no real 'gate' there. but if your used to older style boxes then it doesn't affect the drive - you just can't rush it into gear. Differential rebuilt.
Suspension:Poly-bushed throughout. Spax front dampers and uprated lever type rear shock absorbers.
Brakes:Front brakes upgraded with new front calipers with stainless steel piston's fitted. cross drilled and grooved Rossini discs and pads. braided hoses. Rear drum brakes as standard. Brake system flushed and refilled with silicon fluid.
Interior:Black interior in good condition. Mota-Lita wood effect steering wheel fittedRollbar fitted. New dash fascia with original switches and dials etc. Sony CD stereo fitted with speakers mounted in handbuilt surround behind seats/between roll cage mounting. Seats are MX5 (very supportive/comfortable) with removable headrests. Seats were purchased from Paul Bishop Upholstery - a renowned specialist - and are trimmed in full with leather and have heater pads fitted to both base and back supports - they are individually switched and are great for getting you warm on those chilly early morning runs. Seats have new adjustable seat mounts and are therefore adjustable forwards/backwards. Four point black Willians Harnesses fitted.
Chassis/Body work:Underside of car very solid. Car has been fully waxoyled by me last year. There are two rust areas. a small area of rust has come through the nearside front wing behind the headlamp and another small rust area on offside rear wing where it meets the B post. The doors also have a crack showing along the top edge at the upper rear of the door where the window channel is. Panel gaps are okay but not perfect.  Looks like bonnet has got stuck down previously (a known issue) as there are the odd marks to paint where it looks like the bonnet had to be forcibly opened. Passenger side mirror has been removed so there are 3 holes fitted with black grommets. Under bonnet area has original paint. unfortunately a previous owner has hand painted the bulkhead area with yellow paint (to tidy(?) the area due to probable brake/clutch fluid leak?)
Exterior:Hood fits okay and does keep the rain out - has a small rip at bottom where it clips to B pillar. Hood storage cover included. Correct optional luggage carrier fitted.  Bumpers are slightly pitted. Rest of chrome work is in good order. Wheels are standard steel rims with the chrome trims. Tyre's are good.
Please view the car - its a very nice usable example that with a bit of TLC will no doubt increase even more upwards in terms of value.
