According to a recent article in Car and Classic. these 420 Jaguars are fantastic value . A rather forgotten model now gaining recognition. With independent rear suspension and other improvements from the Mark 2 . they give an excellent ride. This AUTO version in BRG has been in Australia until recently . consequently it has suffered NO RUST . the underside is superb . It runs and drives perfectly . The interior magnolia leather very good original. apart from a tear in the rear seat. The woodwork is excellent and has not been messed with. Good history that confirms a total mileage of 108. 00 miles . An interesting notebook lists all work and maintenance carried out over  the last 30 years i. e at 89. 00 miles triple carbs fitted. New Chrome wire wheels . New wheel bearings all round. at 90. 00 rebuilt engine fitted . 92. 00 miles. new Koni shocks fitted.  Steering box rebuilt. at 97. 00 miles New bottom ball joints and much more. Why spend time and money on a rust heap welding patches on it !  Most of the car has never been painted. you can see what you are getting . nbsp;however with nearly 50 years of hot sun the paintwork is rather poor . but perfectly usable .
