            The Rawlins family offers this four door standard steel saloon. located in the Atlanta. Ga. area. We acquired B546NZ in 1999. from a prior owner who purchased it in the UK in 1985 and shipped it to the USA.

            The car was maintained and repaired by S. R. S. . Inc. (Sam Rawlins Service) from 1991 through 1999. at which time it was parked in need of an engine rebuild. A log of activity was maintained.

             A complete engine rebuild was performed by S. R. S. . with all machining and parts acquired by Sam and fitted to his standards of excellence. His notes are in the file.  We are now in the process of driving the car to properly break in the engine. B546NZ performs as it should.  The engine compartment presents well. with correct original parts.

            This car is an original. not modified example. with exception of deteriorated drivers seat leather.   This leather seat panel was fitted with a new one. and all of the hides were treated and dyed in a two color scheme. We are pleased with the results.

            The original Moss Green paint surface retains it's color.  and has been polished.  A small repair to the drivers side door was done and the paint matched in that area.  To my eyes. it is invisible. I can see where a repair was made to the passenger side front fender parking lamp area. I am informed this was to repair a dent. I have tried to photograph that area.   There are numerous small scratches and nicks.   The chrome is very presentable. This car has a sunroof. This is a manual floor shift four speed gearbox model.  The interior walnut trim looks clean and has not been deteriorated by sunlight as some I have seen.    Five new Coker "nostalgic radial" tires and tubes have been recently mounted. We have the original Dunlop 670-16 Gold Seal spare tire. The car retains the owners manual.

            This is not a rusty car. It was very well kept throughout it's life. and therefore. was worthy of the energy and expense of a proper mechanical rebuild. The mechanical systems in this car were attended to by experts of vintage Rolls Royce and Bentley automobiles.

            The odometer reading of 43. 91 is believed to be the correct original mileage.

             I am informed this is not a car to restore. It is also not what should be described as a "project car". though it could benefit from some attention to details. This car is one to drive. maintain. and enjoy. and may qualify as a candidate for a "Preservation Class" entry.
