1939 Hudson model 92 convertible broughman super six. This Hudson has survived for more than seven decades. It is truly a rare prewar competitor to the likes of Chevrolet. Ford and Chrysler. One would think that in 1939 that there wouldn't be very many car buyers who had the resources for a new convertible. I know of no one who knows how many Hudson sold or how many survive today. I have been Hudson clubs 5 years and around cars all my life and this is the only Hudson convertible broughman I know of. I had planed to drive  the Hudson  to the Hudson - Essex - Terraplane Club national meet in San Francisco from here in New Mexico. The Hudson is now finished and ready to make the drive. I myself will need to wait for another time and car. I'm putting this Hudson up for sale only because I need my investment back to finance a family members education. If you are interested in purchasing this Hudson or would would just like to look at images of her please visit my flicker web site http://www. flicker. com/photos/lifecycling  I have 100 images posted of the Hudon along with many new and NOS parts that go with the car. I have owed her since 2008 and refurbished mostly in house. I have worked and enjoyed older autos for more than 50 years and had a couple of my cars invited to Pebble Beach Concourse.

All systems on this Hudson have been professionally rebuilt. Everything works as should on this Hudson except for the radio. The radio mechanics are good and complete and it hums through the speaker and lights up when switched to the on position. I did have this radio at my radio repairman / friends home shop for repairs but I'm sad to say he passed away before he got around to repairng the radio. I have not found another repair man at this time so I have reinsalled it back into the car. The instrument clusters and gauges are complete and in working order with very nice faces and needles. Handy shift functions with ease through all gears as new. Car has been gone over inch by squar inch and all mechanical groups rebuilt. repaird or replaced and all now are in good working order. Only rust is on the front floor pan. It is a small rust through on a relief in the mold stamping recess. To me this was minor and I sealed it and fit a new section for the full front and fastened it leaving the original floor intact. Images of this repair can be seen on my flicker page. That being said this Hudson is truly a rust free / solid body and frame that has not been left to the elaments or beaten up or abused. The engine in the Hudson although completly rebuilt and a correct 1939 model 92 6 it is not the engine the car left the Hudson factory with . When I bought the Hudson on Ebay the then seller in California  lied to me about the engine and advertised the car with having the wrong engine in the car but the" original engine was also included" (Well it was'nt the right engine either . still have a copy of that listing and that old engine) it was my first Hudson and I trusted the guy at his word.  Well the new engine in the car now is  out of a sedan that I bought  later on and turned out a winner . The Hudson stars right up and runs out reliable. nbsp;smooth and quiet .  The car doors open . close . lock and fit exceptionally well. All compartments and doors open and lock with correct keys along with spares / keys. All windows roll up and down smoothly. DISAPPEARING WINDOW wing vents open. close. and disapear into door smoothly. Interior handles. knobs and levers in very good condition. Night time driving is not a problem. Head lamp reflectors have been re silvered and light ray is bright white and to me is much better night vision than later 12 volt sealed beam systems. Clutch releases and engauges  smooth and without chatter. Parking brake and foot brakes operate as new. Top dust boot original and in good condition for seventy plus years. Front and rear seats still have the original spring padding and worn red leather upholstery under the slip covers. The fabric for the folding top deck is good only as a replacement top deck pattern. it is rotting and shredded. The folding top hardware is complete with side quarter windows and rear window assemblies with the car in the originalrear seat back curtain container assembly storage compartment on the back of the rear seat. The Hudson was rebuilt without compromising the originality of her as much as I could. I didn't completely restore the car. only original once but always restorable. This Hudson was set up to drive for fun events and outings. howing her off like she would have appeared back in the day. I would also say that this Hudson is truly Lady driver friendly. Handling is quick and very lite.  I have truly enjoyed putting about 250 mile shake down on this little Hudson and now it is someone else's turn. This Hudson is ready for years of driving fun as is without worry of nicks or bumps. Always draws a crowed of lookers weather one wants that sort of thing or not. Please come and look things over and email me with questions I will be happy to reply.
