1971 429 Super Cobra Jet Mustang rebuilt in Australia
Produced for just four months. the 429 Cobra Jet cars are some of the most radical factory Mustangs ever produced. as well as one of the most beautiful and rare. The 429 engine was an all new engine and not a variation of the 428 engine. Some basic specs are four bolt main block. forged connecting rods. forged pistons. 11. 3:1 compression ratio and with the “Super” adding a drag pack diff. limiting the speed to 110 MPH but to date causing this to be the fastest factory FORD for 35 years across the ¼ mile.
This engine was rated at an insurance friendly 375 HP. but every body with engine knowledge could see this was false after reading the specs. Independent engineers placed the figures at an earth shattering 440 HP.
Furthermore. it is the fastest and lowest production Mustang ever built. Faster than any 1969 or 1970 428 car. and even the Ferrari beating famous Le Mans winning GT40. Road tests of the day placed a 1971 429 SCJ at 13. 40 @ 105 MPH quarter mile. 35 years later this still held the record for the fastest factory produced Ford across the ¼ mile.
This test was based on the exact Mustang specification of this vehicle. being a factory stock 429 with C6 automatic gearbox and 9 inch Detroit Locker Differential. This car was brought to Australia in the 1990's and painstakingly engineered and rebuilt from a bare shell to be the closest thing to a brand new unmodified 1971 429 Super Cobra Jet Mustang.
Being rebuilt in Australia it is of course not a $100. 00 matching numbers car. But an as new easy to use everyday muscle car with engineering papers and has been registered on full rego in NSW and previously in Victoria.
Non Standard items are: Ford Cobra paint scheme. CD/MP3 player. B & M shifter. Simmons wheels. Recaro interior. right hand drive conversion.

Comments and questions to the seller:
from Lance , dated 19 may 2022Use to be my dads car from 1994 to 2002. he purchased it from the guy who did a full bare metal rebuild on it, this was prior to the white racing stripes being painted on it this thing was a monster. Man I have so many great memories of growing up with this car I’d love see it restored to it former glory and know where it is now.
Lol my dad put it into a wall the second day he had it cause it use to start in gear that’s why it’s got the flute bonnet and the smaller bumper bar

What happened to this car, I seen it around mittagong a few years back and up in Liverpool in the 90’s. Would love to know if it’s still around and for sale
