1971 Mini 1000 Purple

This is a very reluctant sale of my Mini 1000 1971. I have owned this little mini since 2008 and have restored it to full health. It has had a respray in 2010 with new panels where needed. I had two full floor halves from front to back and genuine sills fitted last November with the rear box sections in the bins restored too. These are done to a very high standard and looks brand new. The body colour is original Blacktulip purple as per year of the car.

Its tax exempt and has mot till November this year.

It has a 1275cc engine with an uprated cam. Vmax 2 head. hif44 carb. Maniflow Freeflow manifold and an RC40 twin box system. New dizzy with electronic ignition from H&H ignition. Gearbox standard 1275 with 3. 44fd.

Rolling road result at T&M in Colchester at 72bhp/78lbs/ft torque with printout. Makes a very nice road engine.

The mini is the original shell. not a ringer as seen all too often for sale. It has all the MK3 features as per year except i have converted it to an alternator for reliability. I still have the original 998cc engine in the shed to go with it which has the remote gearbox. rubber coupled driveshafts and remote gear linkage and gearshift. I took it out for a rebuild but have never got to that part yet.

The bodywork is very good for a 42 year old car. there is a patch of paint on the scuttle that needs sorting. I have been quoted around £100 for this patch to be repainted.

The suspension has been upgraded with Gaz lowered adjustable dampers all round. new genuine rubber donuts on rear with RAC hi-los.

The brakes are cooper s 7. 5" discs. the calipers were bought brand new in 2009. goodridge hoses. the rears are cooper s spacered spec.

It has minilife 4. 5x10" alloys and yokohama A008 tyres that were bought brand new in 2009.

The interior has the Mk3 dark navy seats which are not too great but useable. one of the seats seat has rips but the others are in good order for year. Thats the last area that needs sorting out in order for a stunner.

I have a folder full of receipts and paperwork for it.

Been my pride and joy for 5 years now. Would like it to go to a good home and for someone to enjoy it like i have.

Relisted elsewhere and have the right to end early.

I would prefer anyone to come and look at it first but up to you.
