1975 Scout II. originally a Alabama car and spent some time in Florida.  I brought it up to Vermont last year. did not see any winter use.
Vehicle is Vermont inspected. starts and runs great. drives great.
This vehicle is a daily driver for me around our small town. it's really fun with the top off.  It is really solid and could be restored to show car if you were interested.
I am constantly getting people stopping me to tell me how good the Scout looks and they love it.
There are a few leaks from the oil pan etc. what you would expect from a 41 year old car. but nothing major.  I check the fluid on a regular basis and I have not needed to add any.  So I don't consider it to be excessive.
The vehicle was lifted 3 inches. the drive shaft should be lengthened a bit if you plan to off road.  I did no off-road use and the drive shaft length is fine.  The drive shaft cost would be less than $200.
Locking hubs are in working order and 4X4 works great.
30 inch tires on wagon wheel rims have 3/4 of tread life left.
As I mentioned earlier. this Scout is in working order and drives great. just drove it 45 miles round trip to the hardware store a few days ago.  Also. took my Faimly out for a great evening drive.
Drives straight and cruises comfortably with no vibration on the HWY at 65 mph.
If you are considering a purchase from more than 3 hours away I would trailer the Scout. but less than three hour drive . this vehicle is capable.
Additionally. the sheet metal in the trunk area. just above the gas tank could be replaced.  I have opted not to do that work. I have cut a piece of plywood to match the shape of the trunk area and covered it with diamond plate rubber mat. cut to fit.  It looks and functions great.  That being said. it would be the next project that I would take on. but its a easy fix.
There are a few very small rust holes in the tail gate that are present but also just cosmetic. I will add pictures soon.
I really have no idea how many miles are on this vehicle.
Comes with black Bimini Top!

Additionally:
New message to:1. Head gasket was rebuilt by a local mechanic. I noticed some water vapor coming out of the drivers side exhaust. I got it fixed before it became a bigger problem. It never over-heated or broke down.

2. Brakes were rebuilt/lubes and pads replaced by a 40 year Ford mechanic

3. No longer have the original front seats.

4. It does not have power steering

5. The cargo area is not too bad. if I was going to rate it on a scale of 1-10. 10 being the best. I would rate it a 5-6. It is years of use. little dented and a few holes in the sheet metal. Like I said. I would replace it next but the temp fix I have in place works and looks good (plywood cut to fit and diamond plate rubber mat).

6. I do not have a front bumper

7. All of the gauges work properly with the exception of the oil gauge. which needs a new temp sender. Actually. I think the gauge works. just needs a temp sender from the block.

8. I have put about 300 miles on it since the head gasket rebuild. I really only drive it around town. and bigger weekend drives.

9. Honestly. I think you could drive it 5 hours or more without a problem. but I never have. If the Scout does not sell for what I am asking I am going to drive it 4 hours to a camp that we have.

10. I am selling the vehicle because I bought a new Jeep. and it is difficult to justify having two vehicles that are so similar. Also. I need to free up some space in the garage. Its hard for me to sell because I love it. and like I said. I might just keep it at our camp if it does not sell.

I have put a lot of time. money and parts (and care) into the Scout. like I said. this is not a show car. but if you want to get into a solid. reliable Scout and not deal with all the work that I had to put into the vehicle this is a great deal.
I have looked at what is available on the market. there are less expensive options. but you will spend money and time getting the vehicle to where mine is.
