1972 Austin Sprite.

The Healey badge had been lost by this point.

Great condition with lots of work done.

Bodywork in great condition. Panel gaps good (one of the reasons I bought the car). The paint is shiny. but a little faded in one or two areas.

It is fitted with Minilite replica wheels.

The engine was rebuilt 3 years ago to 1380cc with a fast road cam. It is very smooth and pulls well. There is a small oil leak on the rocker cover.

Kenlowe electric fan fitted. Electronic ignition. New battery. Braided hoses for brakes on rebuilt system.

The interior is in good condition. with a Motolita steering wheel. The speedo has been restored and recalibrated. The passenger seat has a split on a seam and the driver's seat has some small marks on the edge. Both seats have new cushions. Inertia reel seatbelts.

The roof works well and is waterproof (by 1972 standards!)

The car is free road tax and cheap insurance @£100 PA. I garage it and don't use it over the winter (except the odd sunny winter day). It costs me about £10 per month when it's not in use.

MOT until April 2017.

Tonneau cover and car cover included in sale.

Myself and a friend have just come back from Le Mans classic in the car. We didn't race! We got there and back with a tent. camping gear. clothes and food without a hitch.

All in all. it's a great little car that has been reliable. fun. cheap to run and is an asset in a rising market.

I have tried to be honest in my description. Please remember it's a 42 year old car that will always need love.

I am selling because I bought a Triumph GT6 Mk1 that needs a total restoration and I need the money.

Viewing essential. Test drive if you can prove you have valid insurance. Cleared funds before I let the car go.

Any questions. please email in the first instance as I can't always answer my phone at work.

I have now added best offer.   I will only accept offers from someone who has viewed the car to prevent further timewasters - sorry to those genuine buyers.
