Restored and in very good condition all ready for the summer

This a well sorted UK (Tin Top) being a late 1979 Type 2 - 2L Bay Window Micro Bus it has the extra power and servo brakes making it a very usable vehicle.

I acquired this Bus last year as I wanted a van to keep. having restored and owed two type 2s before I knew what I was looking for. After about a year of searching and looking at lots of overpriced rotten ones. I came across this tin top micro bus.

Not the cheapest one I looked at. but a genuine un-abused one which had been part restored having a rebuilt 2L engine. new front panel and sills professionally fitted but it was then  left in a garage for the next 8 years untouched. before I found it and persuaded the owner to sell it to me.  

With the deal done and the bus back home. I then spent the next year completing the repairs and stripping the complete van back to bare metal before re-spraying in Rover Tahiti Blue and Old English White for the roof and window frames

The Bus was then reassembled using new window/door rubbers and many new parts as required. alloy wheels and a set of new tyres which together has made this a very good looking VW

The interior is all intact with just a small tear on one of the seats and a small one on the roof lining; I have fitted a full set of new door cards which are all trimmed in blue to match the exterior.

All the mechanics have been checked and rebuilt as required

I was planning to keep this one so I took my time and did the job right

As you can see from the photos the Bus is now looking the part.

My intention was to kit the bus out as a camper but due to a change in circumstances (Daughter going to University then not liking it) the bus is now up for sale to pay for her change of heart. I'm gutted really but that's kids for you.

The camper has a MOT until June 2014 and is Taxed until December 2013

You have the option of  using it (as is) for a Day/Surf Bus or kitting it out as a camper the choose is yours. But if you are looking for a VW Bus that's well sorted and all the hard work done then this has got to be for you.

I have tried to give an honest summery of the VW and yes it will have some very minor faults. but it is a very good well sorted Bus.
