A 1972 Jensen interceptor with only 67000 miles registered. Last MOT'D 1986 and then regrettably stored for the next 30 years in a lorry container. which has taken a heavy toll on the overall condition of this iconic car.  I want to be very clear and honest on this. the car is exceptionally corroded through on the majority of body panels. the underside is very corroded. the inner and outer sills are corroded through. the bonnet and doors including tail-gate are corroded through. the roof panel is corroded where the tail-gate hinges are located. the tail-gate is seized. the passenger door is stuck shut. the bonnet is detached from it's hinges. the front and rear valences are corroded away. the inner wings are corroded in some sections. the exhausts are non existent. the floor pans are corroded through in places. the door skins inner and outers are corroded through and the steering wheel rim is detached.
The interior is complete apart from the head restraint pads which attach with velcro. the seat frames are good. the dash upper has one split in the vinyl. the instruments are reasonable but there is some signs of rust in the speedometer and tachometer. the seat coverings are beyond repair. the stitched head-lining looks reasonable. the carpets have disintegrated. there doesn't seem to be any rodent droppings at all in the car which is a good sign. the upper vents in the dash which are alloy are deteriorated. I am unable to gain entry to the boot space so can't report on that. switches seem to be complete. There doesn't seem to be an owner's handbook or service book but there are two MOT certificates from 1985/6.
The glass all seems to be in reasonable order.
The front and rear bumpers are complete and the chrome is reasonable but pitted in places. The stainless and chrome trim on the car is reasonable and complete except that the stainless outer sill panels seem to be missing.
The badges and emblems seem to all be present. with the exception of one wheel centre cap. The 5 spoke alloy wheels are silver and black and have the wheel nuts with the 'J' logo and of course need refurbishing. The spare wheel is not fitted underneath so maybe missing if not in the boot. I am unable to gain entry to the boot space.  The tyres are Dunlop SP Sports of the period. some better than others. The wheels allow the vehicle to roll but I am reluctant to apply the brakes in case they bind so it can't be moved.
In the engine bay is the Mopar 7. 2 litre V8. complete but again will need complete overhaul due to length of time standing. as will all the ancillary components. which again seem to be complete. I have made a point of not turning the engine for fear of internal damage.
The central chassis tubular frame and sub-frames seem in reasonable order and the suspension is supporting the weight of the car well. The rear leaf springs still have some bandaging left on them.
Those of you who are familiar with Jensens and classic cars should now have a good vision of the car's condition and the amount of cost. specialist work and professional skills required to bring this hand-built car back to life.  But in my opinion it is worth it due to the iconic value of this car on completion. I do not want this car to be broken. as once it has gone there is no more. it should be retained for it's British motor industry heritage.
Obviously the car will need to be winched onto a transporter for delivery. I have the V5.
On auction end I would like a 10% deposit of the final bid paid into Pay-pal and the rest as cash on collection please. The car will need to be transported away within 7 days of the auction end please.  I have further photo's as needed feel free to enquire.
PLEASE SAVE THIS BEAUTIFUL CAR!
