For sale is a convertible 1969 Chevelle . ZZ454. 4spd. (SS tribute).    Let me start by saying this car is not a show car!! It is a driver.   It has tons of potential for someone who wants to restore it properly. or it can be enjoyed right now as a daily summer driver.   I've owned this car for 15+ years. and can tell you anything you want to know about it. and I'm nothing if not honest.   The pics posted here are mostly from last spring. and are a good representation of condition.   I've done too many replace/recondition/upgrades over the years to mention here.

I really wanted to start with the motor and driveline but first things first.   Body is solid and rust-free.    It is not a show car. as I said.   The paint is old.   There are blemishes.   The minor dings and scratches have accumulated over the years.   There is some rusty scale developing on the underside of the trunk. and some (4or5) very small holes  in the trunk……none bigger than the head of a pin.   I think I drilled these myself installing a sub box. years ago.   Brand-new gas-tank and hardware installed 3 or 4 years ago.   Just drop the tank down. and wire-wheel  off the scale.    A little JB-Weld and POR-15. and it's good as new. ……an afternoon's work.    I did this myself on the floorpans 3 years ago. before I had the new carpet installed.   They weren't that bad. ither.   I just wanted them to be solid for years to come.    I just do not have time anymore.   But. it needs to be addressed in the next couple of years. before it becomes a bigger problem……. full disclosure.    Frame is straight and solid.

Interior is clean. as you can see. with new carpet and professionally  rebuilt seats (new springs and foam).    ALL front suspension components were replaced 10 years ago. along with new shocks and springs on all 4 corners.   Tires have less than 5k miles on them.

List of inoperable items is short.    Speedo/odometer was inop when I bought car. and I never got around to replacing it.   Fan motor is also inop. but I replaced the seals. heater core. and ducting……should just need a motor.    Car does not have a/c.   Motor has a small rear-main seal leak which it's had since it was new.   Nothing more than a nuisance.

The motor. along with EVERYTHING under the hood  was installed brand-new. about 10 years ago.   I've probably put between 20 and 25k miles on it since.   EVERYTHING was bought brand new.    All of the highest quality components.     ARP. Edelbrock. span >  Hedman headers with Flowtech coating (inside and out). span >  Jacobs ignition. 2-core aluminum radiator. Holley carb and hi-vol fuel pump.  Accel billet distr.   Ram billet flywheel. and clutch.    Muncie M-21 was rebuilt 4 years ago. and installed with brand-new Hurst shifter.   10-bolt posi (3. 08).   2. 5  inch. mandrel –bent. span >  Torque-Tech exhaust w/crossover pipe and Flowmasters.   Everything that I could get  in aluminum. I did (including the heads).    I was concerned about the weight of a big block screwing up the handling. so I also moved the battery to the trunk.   Edelbrock alum wtr pump is just painted orange.   This car is very well-balanced. and goes around corners wonderfully for an old car.   Of course. I have receipts for everything. including motor and the actual invoice for the car. which I purchased from a dealership.

Heads have never been off motor.   It is bone-stock inside.    THIS CAR IS NOT. NOR EVER HAS BEEN A RACE CAR.    I've had it to the dragstrip once. in the time I've owned it .   I just wanted a fun. street-fast (torquey). good-handling . classic convertible for the street.   By this measure. I succeeded on all counts.   I've been enjoying this car for the last 10 summers. and it's been a blast.

Purchase will be done through Escrow. com.   $1000. 00 deposit will be due via Paypal within 24 hours of auction's end. with the balance due within 7 days.    Shipping will be arranged. and paid for by buyer.    I will not accept offers outside of Ebay.   Serious bidders only. please!!  Feel  free to post questions.   I will answer all accurately and honestly.   I should be able to post a link to dozens of additional photos shortly. otherwise. I'd be happy to email a link.   I can show car at my home in Plainfield. Illinois to serious buyers any morning this week.   This is a NO RESERVE auction.   Thanks for looking. and good luck!!
