RESTORATION PROJECT... 1996 ALFA ROMEO 146 1.7 16V GREEN

Welcome to the sale of my Alfa Romeo 146 1. 7 16V (She has the Boxer engine which makes her a RARE find) The Alfa has been well looked after at 109000 miles  the cam belts were changed  the clutch assembly was also changed at the same time the gearbox mechanism was overhauled creating a tighter sportier feel the cylinder heads were overhauled.  Additional works that have been done … Both handbrake cables have been replaced - front and rear brake calipers front discs all brake pads - Brake balance hoses and pipes – the steering joints both lower suspension arms – The tailgate gas struts – New battery -  radiator – catalytic converter – Lambda sensor – Complete exhaust system – and Clutch slave cylinder.  Many of these parts were a precautionary measure not because they needed replacing. The latest part to be fitted was the heating matrix radiator  (purchased on eBay from Poland because you can't get genuine ones from  Alfa  dealerships here in the UK I tried)  and to be truthful it's had two because the first was faulty and needed replacing not long after it was fitted. Soon after getting the vehicle back a guy was selling a genuine matrix on eBay so I purchased it so with the car you will get a spare.

TBH the Vehicle body for a vehicle 20 year old is in good cosmetic condition where you would expect there to be loads of rust here just isn't any she is basically a solid vehicle the body work does have age related scuffs the largest being on the n/s/r ¼ panel and accident that happened when a tree fell in the garden. She has not been restored in any way and to be truthful not much needs to be done to bring her up to showroom condition.   This is a genuine example! The interior condition of the upholstery is amazing a little piece of the piping is showing on the driver's seat.   She even has the original radio cassette with code!

Now for the faults … Major She failed the mot today 13/7/2016 welding to the n/s/r seat belt anchorage and inner sill + few minor faults hence restoration project .  Minor  the o/s/f door lock is sticky it doesn't always unlock with the key you have to unlock by the n/s door but that's minor -  the roof lining needs replacing  (you can source this kit on ebay for around £60) The glue just lost its bond and the lining was taken down . remarkably there is no old glue to be cleaned off. The back parcel shelf has lost it color over the years  Oh and lastly the rubber seat release had broken on the n/s and that's it.

The Alfa will also come with the original alloys (which most people prefer) but selling with the vehicle is a set of 17” alloys with fair tyres on 3  -  1 needs replacing. See pictures

The 146 may not have been the best Alfa made but she is definitely a rare model (to the best of my knowledge there are only 5 left in the country and this is one of 2 of the 16V left on the road) So if your an Alfa enthusiast then I doubt whether you will find one in the condition this one is in and to the right person she will be a investment with the equipment it will not cost much to bring her up to a showroom condition.  

Meter  readings for the previous 4 years…2012  125330. 2013 127000. 2014 129070. 2015 129468 . 2016 133180 Genuine miles from new which is about 6. 5k a year and a beautiful drive.  

The roof bars were a special order and cost £88 and will go with the vehicle as I will obviously have no use for them.  

I've set the price at £600 because I genuinely feel shes worth that but open to sensible offers.
