I have owned the S type since January 2014 it has always been garaged and has been used sparingly. I know it's not a "classic" per se but it has the makings of one and I bought it because it had the 'right' spec. It's not the sort of car that I'm comfortable hawking in the run of the mill classads along with the rusty dented wrecks as it deserves to be noticed and get a new owner that appreciates it for what it is.

I have had quite a lot done to it in my ownership. new cooling radiator. new aircon rad and engine bay pipework. which cost me around £700. The aircon remains nice and properly cold and doesn't 'just need a re-gas' as so many ads proclaim when the aircon is actually u/s) ! New drivers front window regulator. NOS back bumper (the original bumper had aftermarket parking sensors badly fitted and some minor parking scuffs). which was professionally repainted. plus the removal of a small ding just above the rear bumper and the mirrors were resprayed. which cost £285 plus the bumper.   The BBS alloys were a bit untidy. so I bought a much better set which have all but one been swapped over. plus a new set of genuine Jaguar centres. The locking wheelnuts were also replaced. The previous owner had fitted new tyres. I had all four wheels laser tracked in March 2014 which cost £69. 20. The boot tray (not pictured) was bought new from Admesh. it has factory overmats throughout. I have just fitted a brand. correct spec battery today. The CD stacker system. radio and cassette works well. there are two magazines. The security system. central locking and windows all work as they should. It was to my mind the 'right' spec. 5 speed manual. leather. pacific blue. aircon. with BBS alloys. CD stacker etc.

There's quite a bit of service history. the original document pack and a file full of receipts and some additional history. Why am I selling it. well I simply don't use it (423 miles last year in the XJS and 344 in the S type). I have a Range Rover. a Land Rover. an XJS convertible and sundry classics. the S type is certainly cherished. occupies the best garage and never goes out in the rain. but with 8 other cars. it's slipping down the pack ! The paint looks a little 'bitty' but that's because I didn't wash it and reflections. I will give it a wash and polish and have a go at taking some better pics to put on the listing.

It is always taxed and insured. but serves no actual purpose for me. the space would be useful and I fancy replacing it with another 1970s British Leyland vehicle (of which I have quite a few and which I do use).

Pleas feel free to ask sensible questions. which will of course receive a sensible answer. I would talk a deal on anything British Leyland.
