84200 genuine miles evidenced by previous mot certificates.
I have owned this vehicle for 3 years during which time it has lived in the optimum conditions of a large airy garage in southern Spain. The car has returned to UK for a couple of months each summer. nbsp;having made the 1700 mile each way journey to Scotland entirely without breakdown. In short this is a reliable car!
Before my ownership the car was owned and cherished by one family being passed from father to sons; it spent some time in Northern Ireland and was reregistered at some stage.
The car is very very solid and i have never found any significant corrosion at all. The paint is not as good as it looks in the photos. There is a dent on the top of a wing. some bubbling over a rear wheel arch and numerous touch ups here and there. It is. I think. very presentable as is. The sills were done years ago-before my time-and whilst the structure is excellent the work resulted in poor door gaps both sides.
The car drives superbly on 4 good vredstein tyres. The all important overdrive is fully functional. The seats have been re-done and are smart and most comfortable. There is a 10p sized hole in the back of the driver headrest. The engine is strong and runs about 55 lbs at 3000rpm. the points have been replaced by the electronic system and have given no trouble in 15k miles. I have been very disciplined about 3000 mile oil and filter changes with the correct 20/50 mineral oil. The car is fitted with the correct period chromed luggage rack. chrome a bit tatty here and there. The spare has excellent tread but seems to lose air over time. The engine compartment is way above average. very clean and generally original. It always draws admiring comment when the bonnet is lifted.
new clutch and release bearing 2000 miles ago. Pioneer face off cd player.  working but needs attention to wiring i think and poss new speakers. potentially a good sound system. I never use it preferring to listen to the sweet engine note through the stainless exhaust.
I have fitted an uprated electric radiator fan controlled by a switch from the cabin. All instruments work. the fuel gauge. however. shows just over half full when fully filled and the tank still has a good deal of fuel left when showing empty. The car is in a good state of tune and achieved 37 mpg on last years run from Granada to Edinburgh!
The five LE wheels were specified at purchase. I believe. The hood is ok with one sewn repair to a tear. I don't think the drivers door lock is working from the exterior but can be locked from the inside. I think.
When i bought this car i searched for the best driving. most roadworthy and mechanically strongest car I could find for my money. The car has certainly lived up to these criteria. It is a vehicle in regular use and not super pristine.
