**NO CDL REQUIRED**This truck has an interesting history as it was originally built in 1954 by Reo Motor Corp as an auger truck (very rare). In 1967 the truck was completely rebuilt and modernized by Kaiser-Jeep into an M109A3 including the LDT-465 Multfuel engine. over drive transmission. etc. like all the M35A2s. It kept many of its older looks such as wider fenders in the engine bay. old style shifter arm. nbsp;original data plates (auger operation and rebuild). as well as many small unique features to older deuce and a halfs making it a unique truck.  The truck was stationed at Ft Hood during its active duty service and after 9/11 the truck was put on emergency reserve mobilization status where major components were overhauled or replaced (new engine for example) and the truck was maintained well. In 2004 the truck was removed from active duty service and kept on base until 2011 as a field communications truck. It was finally sold to the public in 2015.
The truck is clean and unabused. it shows 382 miles / 507 hours since the engine was replaced while on emergency reserve status.  A new "crate" motor (motor stored in a crate) was installed during this time that was completely rebuilt in 1992. New wheel cylinders. brakes. hard top. and more were installed. The brakes were in excellent condition when I picked up the vehicle from Ft Hood and I bled them with fresh DOT 5 fluid in case any water got into the system.
I rebuilt the HH (hydraulic head) on the injection pump and bypassed the FDC (fuel density compensator) as mandated by the Army. This prevents fuel from seeping into the crankcase which is a well known issue on deuces. The LDT-465-1C Continental Multifuel engine is still multifuel capable and will burn anything for fuel: diesel. gas. motor oil. moon shine. veggie oil. etc. The truck has the sprag transfer case to engage 6x6 wheel drive and a full set of Titan 9. 00x20 NDT tires at 70-90% tread (some dry rot. all hold air).
She starts instantly and runs well.  It is crucial during these first few hundred miles that the truck be driven to break in the engine properly. All fluids look good and I had the radiator pulled. tested. and repaired due to a bent fin. Everything is functional on the truck except the horn button.  I have installed two commercial truck batteries. turn signal box. and headlights with new replacements. There are a few wet spots on the drive terrain from sitting. The rear box has surface rust around the corners and a few pin holes in the roof. The deck is in good shape but could use new hinges. The rest of the truck is in amazing shape for it's age with no real rust or issues. She's a unique truck with a lot of history!
