This real deal 1969 Pontiac GTO is for sale in our Fort Lauderdale FL location. The GTO is what many consider the car that started the whole muscle car craze back in 1964. By 1968 the car was beginning to be dated and so a new model with a fastback design was released and the public loved it. 1969 would bring more of the same and many believe to be the best looking GTO to ever leave the motor city. This real 242 GTO has had a nut and bolt restoration done about 6 years ago and still shows extremely well. The black paint is slick and though not the original color the only way you could tell is by the trim tag. Under the hood is the classic 400 CID engine that is believed to be the one that came in the car. Putting out 350 + HP you had to have a strong transmission and this GTO has arguably one of the best. The M20 in this Goat feels great with no issues going through all the gears. The clutch still has plenty of life left with great peddle feel as well. Open the door and the classic interior is everything you would expect from Pontiac. The black vinyl buckets not only look great but are very comfortable to boot. The floor mounted 4 speed shifter comes up to the perfect spot. With it being right at arm lengths away banging through the gears is an absolute pleasure. Keep your eye on the tach though as these 400's were notorious for revving up a little too fast. Ofcourse that maybe due to all that torque making those tires break loose at a moment's notice.
