MGB GT 1981 Limited Edition LE Superb Condition

1981 'W' Reg MGB GT Limited Edition in Pewter Silver

This is a very clean example of an MGB GT. you will struggle to find another in this condition!

Many new parts were fitted including headlamps. bowls and rings. front panel. head gasket. battery. rear wheel cylinders. windscreen and rubber seal. windscreen wipers. front footwell carpets and number plates. New door cards were also fitted but no speakers were fitted as I didn't want to cut up the new door cards but there is an electric aerial fitted with cable running to the centre console. hidden behind an MG radio blanking plate.

The car was stripped down before any bodywork took place. All glass was taken out. chrome trims removed and all panels removed. There was some welding done but this car was very solid to begin with. The bottoms of the rear wings. where they meet the sills. required some small plates and also the front wings had some welding around the headlamp rings but that was it. Any surface rust was sanded out. the whole car was sanded down. the filler work was done and then the car was etch primed then high build primed. The primer was sanded and then it was resprayed in the original colour (pewter silver). the finish is to a very high standard. The same process was done for the panels (tailgate. doors and bonnet. inside and out). The engine bay was not done as it is in a respectable condition already. All parts were then cleaned and refitted.

The mileage is a very low at 32588. but sadly the paperwork has been misplaced but I believe the mileage to be genuine considering the condition of the car before I started work on it. The head was removed and a new head gasket fitted. The engine runs smoothly and fires up straight away. The overdrive works perfectly on the button.

MOT til June 2017. Car is currently SORN'd.

The interior is in good condition which would again suggest the mileage is genuine.

All 5 wheels (spare included) have been sanded down inside and out. the insides and outside recessed sections have been painted professionally and then the faces have been polished. New valves were fitted before the tyres were put back on and balanced.
