1972 MG MIDGET (MILLIE) - WHITE 1275 ROUND WHEEL ARCH MODEL

RELISTED - Since I first listed I have had Millie MOT'd so she now has a full 12 months.   She flew straight through. one advisory on the handbrake travel so all is well.

 Hi. you're looking at Millie. my tax exempt 1972 MG Midget.   She's what I consider to be the 'right one'. the 1275 engine. round wheel arch model.   You're more than welcome to come and view (I'll happily take you for a spin) but I'll quickly cover the main points here.   I have quite a lot of receipts / history with the car. which show it having been well loved over the years.   She's had a unleaded head conversion done. runs and drives really nicely.   Obviously this is a 44 year old car so you know. we're not talking supercar performance but she's very nippy due to her low gearing and is great fun on 'B' roads. I often use her down the coast or over the moors and that's where she's in her element.   Always runs. never lets me down. and to be honest these old cars are so simple you'd probably soon be on your way again even if something did go wrong!  Again. and I'm sorry if i'm stating the obvious and i'm sure most of you know. but this is an old car. you'll need to warm her up a bit in the morning. use the choke for a few miles. the brakes are good but again. it's an old car and cars didn't have servos then so you just have to press the pedal harder than you would in a modern car.   Gearbox is great. four speed with the strandard straight cut first gear without a synchro.   (Please don't come and say 'it whines in first gear'. it's supposed to. it would have when it was driven out of the factory and it does now. )

I've had her up on the ramp recently and she is in brilliant condition underneath. no worries there.   Interior is very smart and overall the exterior is good.   She was last resprayed around 15 years ago so she's an honest car. she's not one that's been clagged up with filler and given a coat of shiny paint that looks great now but will be a mess in six months time!  The only less good point of the car is some of the lower right hand side. above the sill area. is a bit bubbly on the exterior but it's not serious. more of a cosmetic issue that doesn't seem to be changing.   Get that taken care of and she'll be really smart.   (I've tried to show it in the last photo)

She's had a recent new hood that is very waterproof (very well tested a few months back!) and I do have a set of tonneau covers that the previous owner gave me.   You're welcome to them but I've never used them. don't really see the point in them to be honest. if it rains while you're out you can lean back and pull the hood up at a set of traffic lights with a bit of practice! ;)  I also have some new spares which you're welcome to. I bought them to take with me on a camping trip a while back but of course didn't need them.   There's a new dizzy. fan belt. points. rotor arm and some leads.   Probably some more odd bits lying around which you're welcome to as well!
