The untimely death of the owner forces sale of this beautiful black 1954 MG TF.   This car had a complete professional body off restoration and engine rebuild in 1988 (see pictures).   The work was done by Klein motor works in San Francisco. and by  O'Conner  Classic in Santa Clara California. who reportedly specialized in MG restorations.

The car spent most of its life in California only coming to Northern Virginia around 2005.   For the past 8 years the car has been garaged kept and used minimally on weekends in good weather.

The owner passed away suddenly two years ago and I am selling the car for his wife. my niece.

The body and the interior are almost perfect. The top looks as if it has never been raised and the side curtains look like they have always been in the storage box.

The car is 100% complete with tools. jack. knock off hammer. engine crank. side curtains. full tonneau cover. luggage rack. etc.

The engine starts right up. is smooth. has good oil pressure. and has plenty of power.   It is fun to drive and shows beautifully.

Other considerations

The transmission is noisy in First Gear. with a sort of clicking noise.   Because the car is light and geared low starting in second gear works fine avoiding whatever is wrong in first gear (which may be nothing more than a noise).

The right hand inside door open handle does not work. The door can be opened from the outside.

The brakes stop the car but the car pulls to the left when the brakes are applied – it's manageable but may need some adjustment.

The headlight pull switch has to be twisted as you pull it out for it to turn on the headlights.

There is some surface rust on the underside of the car. and on the wire wheels where it had been spattered with mud before being put into storage the last time that it was used.

This is a beautiful car and with some minor fixes could be perfect with many enjoyable years of Sunday drives ahead.
