Today there are well over 100 major car museums through out the United States.   There are also hundreds of private car collections. not open to the public but made up of American collectible cars that are of a very sophisticated nature.  Owners of these collections find themselves in a very competitive marketplace where there are not many cars offered for sale that meet their high standards.

Today we are happy at MissChiTown LLC to announce to everybody that we have a car for sale that will meet the most stringent requirements of any high-end collection.   The car that you see before you today is not only rare because only 131 were made but according to experts of the Kaiser Frazer Club there are less then 14 1951 Frazer convertibles that exist.   Of these it is estimated that less then half are running.   It is MissChiTown's opinion after doing much research that the absolute finest Frazer 4-door convertible that exists today is the one that is being offered for sale in this Ebay auction.   The quality of the restoration would meet just about every museum's high standards and the fact that it is painted in the most favorite medium metallic green with a fully restored tan interior just makes it a knock out.

Most people when they think about four-door convertibles post war they think of the 1961 Lincoln convertible but in reality the first post-war four door convertible was the Frazer convertible.   The 1951 Frazer model was the most deluxe and was not only exceptional attractive on the outside but was highly finished on the interior.

Of course the 1951 Frazer 4-door convertible was the lead car for the Kaiser Frazer Company and absolutely no expense was spared to make it the most deluxe car that could be made at the time.   The chrome trim on the interior and exterior was plentiful. the convertible top was sophisticated and the car had hydraulic windows all around and a four speed hydraulic transmission.   When you talk about rare post war convertibles they don't get any rarer then a Frazer convertible and you won't find a better one then the one that is offered here.

This 1951 Frazer 4-door convertible for sale in this ad is a beautiful example and shows off a fabulous restoration. If you are looking for a true legendary car from the 1950s this could be a perfect addition to any collection and will give you serious bragging rights.   The color combination on this car is a real winner!

·     Hydra-Matic

·     228 miles on odometer (believed to be mileage since restoration – original mileage unknown).

·     Opulent Leather Interior (Kaiser and Frazer convertibles came that way and were lavishly and colorfully trimmed).   There are folding center armrests front and rear.

·     Hyrdro-electric windows front and rear and hydraulic top.

·     Convertible top.

·     Steering wheel is the deluxe model with the Kaiser emblem.

·     The car is equipped with KF radio and heater and clock.

·     Beautiful chrome and there is a lot of chrome on the car especially the interior.

·     All in all. it was a lavishly and colorfully trimmed car.

·     There is an ornate plastic Frazer grille emblem.

·     KF introduced the convertibles in 1949.

·     131 Frazer convertibles were built and sold.

·     About 10. 00 Frazers of other body styles were also built for 1951 before Frazer production was ended for good.

From the Internet that describes the 1951 Frazer Manhattan 4-Door Convertible:

NUMBER PRODUCED: 5162: 131

SERIAL NUMBER RANGE: F516-001001 to K516-001283

BODY NUMBER RANGE: F5161 – 1001 to 1132

The 1951 Frazer Manhattan convertible was a car that distributors did not want to give up easily. The Philadelphia PA distributorship kept their 1951 F5162 well into calendar 1952 according to a photo spread on a promotion found in KAISER-FRAZER DEALER NEWS. Small wonder; the model would be the last production ragtop built by Kaiser-Frazer Corporation (it should be noted that while the Kaiser-Darrin sports car started development under the K-F banner. production found the car a product of Willys Motors. Incorporated).

The convertibles were trimmed to the same opulent degree that their 1949-50 Kaiser and Frazer counterparts were. Leather upholstery with high grade vinyl trim was the norm on the last convertibles to bear the Frazer name. Like the prior model year version. the top and windows were hooked into a hydraulic system. This set-up was a product of Dura Corporation. and was similar in general layout to the mechanism used in Buick Roadmaster convertibles.

All 1951 Frazer Manhattan convertibles were equipped with the extra cost Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.

possible for some 1949-50 trim numbers to be identified here as some of the bodies used were in fact 1949-50 types in the body bank awaiting final assembly releases that never came through.
