Restored 1965 11 Window bus.

I bought this van at the end of August  2011 as I have always wanted a splitscreen and unfortunately now it is time to move it on. Since I brought the van back I can't of taken it out more than 20 times and covered less than a few of hundred miles in it so it is a shame to just keep it locked up all time as it is a really good runner. I do love the bus and will probably regret it if it does sell but I have just been made redundant for the second time in a year so needs to go.

The person I bought van of is heavily into his VW's so it has been properly done and no corners cut. Some of the below is from his original advert and hopefully he wont mind me using the links to the pictures.

The van was imported from California sometime after 2004 and then the shell was fully restored and all rust cut out and new panels welded in. here is the website with the pic's http://www. cjroberts. com/steve/spt/index. htm

Body. LHD. full bare metal respray in sea blue and green-white. 6 pop out side windows and an electric sun roof (this does not leak at all).

Mechanicals. Full new dual circuit brake system (everything) with disk brakes on the front. straight axle conversion (1500 box). American Eagle alloys (70's copies of Fuchs) with very good tyres. adjustable from and rear coilover shocks. Transporterhaus dropped spindles with adjustable beam.

Engine. 1776 Laurie Pettit built wasserboxer crank engine (appx 13k miles). stainless 4-1 exhaust. alternator. external oil filter and cooler. electric ignition. powder coated tinware. rejetted weber 32/36. Firetec plumbed in automatic fire extinguisher.

Interior. new full wiring loom. new rubbers all round. full pro interior re-trim – head liner. interior panels. seats. Modified Devon interior. ¾ width rock and roll bed. removable seat. table and cooker unit. thermo blinds. full length autocraft sun canopy. childs cab hammock. CD multi changer. 3 point seatbelts in front and 2 lap belts in the rear.

These are pictures of how the bus looked when I bought it last year and nothing has changed apart from a small scratch on the back bumper and I have taken the cooker and table out but they will go back in.

The van is no longer registered in the UK and is now located in Guernsey. however it is only a short flight from the UK and 2 hours back on the ferry.
We do not have MOT's here but the UK MOT ran out in May 2012 and have no reason to believe that it wouldnt pass.

I have also spoken to HMRC and they have advised that the vehicle can be returned to the UK under returned goods and would not be liable to import duties as it has not been out of the UK for longer than three years.

When I bought the van in 2011 I was told the insurance value was £17500 and that is what I have it insured for.

I will also include in the sale all spares that came with it including a couple of touch up spray cans. four door bump stops. rear bench seat (it has a small rip). a trickle charger. a starter pack. a small gas camping stove and any other bits I have for it.

I would describe the van as very good condition although it is obviously not show room condition at this price. there are a couple of marks here and there but is solid all round and has no rust. It is always garaged for insuance reasons and rarely sees the light of day.

Please be aware that this is a genuine sale and is being sold as seen. A deposit of £250 will need to be paid once the auction ends and the balance on collection. I do not accepts cheques. cash or same day bank transfer only.
