Here is an end run 1971 Mark III Triumph Spitfire. 1. 3L in Old English White. Officially production finished in 1970 with the commencement of the Mark IV; however this may have simply not been registered till the following year.

This car is being sold on behalf of my partner's brother who now resides in Edinburgh and no longer has anywhere to store it. The car is currently housed in Colchester. Essex at his parents' house.

It does not have overdrive. meaning it would be best to avoid dual carriageways. but it's much more fun to tour the B-roads than to try and power through to your destination. This is a car that always draws attention and smiles.

Previous owner had extensive restoration undertaken (actually started by the owner before him) with photographic evidence.  Both the bonnet and the boot lid are fibreglass due to rot in the originals which were replaced by the previous owner; also comes with fibreglass Ashley GT fastback hardtop and boot lid. with matching stripes (all of heat is easily removed with the application of heat). Previous owner also fitted a sports exhaust. giving a fantastic sound without being over the top.

The paintwork on the doors is mismatched where the wing mirrors were apparently repositioned by the previous owner. personally I did not mind; however it is a noticeable difference in colour.

The cylinder head has been reconditioned and rocker head replaced. receipts available for all work undertaken by previous owner and during my ownership. The soft-top rear windscreen and roof was been re-conditioned and cleaned. unfortunately the hard-top. which includes a fibreglass internal shelf that connects the side-mounted fuel-cap to the centrally placed tank needs a new seal.

Dash is original but the rest of the interior is not I'm afraid. most noticeable are the stereo (removable faceplate) and the steering wheel. I have the original in fair condition. but the one I've been using is a much smaller diameter which is handy for tall people. These are notoriously small cars. however the legroom is fantastic and cushioned semi-bucket style seats give amazing back support. The owner was 6'4” (195cm) and only occasionally find it awkward.

Double edged sword of a spare wheel: matching alloy wheel. limits boot space! It does. however have two boot racks. one aluminium as well as the original with wooden slats. this will need to be sanded down and re-varnished. unfortunately never got round to it myself.

There is also a large selection of spares. some in better condition than others. These are to be sold in bulk with the car. included in the price. This is a fantastic car and unfortunately is only being sold due to not having the ability to store in Edinburgh.
