1957 ROLLS ROYCE SILVER CLOUD 1 for restoration.

                 . 1957 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 1 with factory option POWERSTEERING.  First delivered in 1/2/1957 by Jack Barclay London to its first owner the Rt. Hon. Viscount Downe Wykeham Abbey. Originally finished in Velvet green and Valspar Green it has had a colour change to white. ommon with wedding car operators in the 70s and 80s. It was exported to a sunny climate during its lifetime and repatriated to the UK in 1991 where it has had one registered keeper since. It is registered as MOT exempt which may explain the last MOT expiring 2010 with previous MOT certificates showing it as in use since its return in 1991. It is currently SORNED.

                 Bodywork appears to be solid around the wheelarches. ower quarter panels and front wings . ith surface rust developing on the wheelarch lips where the paint has flaked. There is some cracking to the paint on the wing tops  but on the whole the paintwork is fair but by no means to the standard this type of car deserves. The interior will require refurbishment. ith tired and damaged carpets. orn and torn leather to the front bench seat and general deteriation with age. The chrome is generally all very good with only some surface pitting to the rear bumper. The drivers wing mirror has broken off and is in the boot.

                   The car starts and has a pleasantly quiet straight 6 cylinder engine. The gears engage but the car has only been driven a short distance at very low speed as the brake pedal travels to the floor and are inoperative. The car was however delivered to me a distance of some 150 miles by the vendor when purchased by me some 3 months ago after undergoing some work to the brake master cylinders. It however clearly has developed a problem and will therefore need to be transported away on a adequately large transporter lorry. A quick prod and push of the buttons show the lights . ipers . orn etc to be working 

                   This elegant sports saloon is now nearing 59 years of age.
