2001 Pontiac Firehawk by SLP— This fine example is sequentially numbered: 456. is fully documented on the Firehawk register and is 1 of 2 confirmed in the UK.

There was originally 540 built this year. of which only 164 were Black 6 Speed Manuals with T-Tops. Out of the 540 only 327 at present are confirmed as still being alive. this makes it a very rare Pontiac model. Potentially that makes this 1 of only 102 in the world still alive and kicking.

Below is a small selection of the RPO codes located on the driver door. and also still has the SLP production stickers to match

This vehicle was sourced and imported in Sep 2014. only 2 owners including myself. It has custom built round Projector Headlights. DRL delete and Switch back LED's for the indicators to comply with the UK MOT.

It was imported with a non original single din American radio which has now been replaced with a custom Android 8” Touch Screen computer with SatNav. radio. MP3. DV system. BT hands-free. full steering wheel control and a OBD II to Bluetooth diagnostic and live info app.

Being so rare it has had a top of the range Viper Alarm system installed with remote start. 1mile range and integrated GPS tracker all with its own hidden battery backup. The remote start features a custom sensor to prevent starting when in gear.

There is also an SLP line-lock just for good measure!

It has been to an LS1 specialist in the UK to have some extensive remapping completed to gain the most out of the engine for our higher octane fuel. and to correctly adjust the programming for the long tube headers SLP factory installed —but do not remap.

Has recently had an all round liquid flush and change. NEW clutch. flywheel & pressure plate. New slave cylinder & remote bleeder.    Recently had new tyres. New brake pads all round. New recon steering rack. New intermediate shaft. New upper & lower front A-Arms. New bushings all round. New Trans-mount. New Engine Mounts. New serpentine belt. New idle pulleys. PCV Oil catch can.

I highly recommend you come and see this vehicle. I have advertised the vehicle elsewhere and reserve the right to remove it from eBay.

You will need to come with ID. and a certificate of fully comp insurance to the value of £20000 if you want to test drive. else you'll have to be a passenger. Sorry

I will also sell this with the £2000 private plate F11HWK.
There is also a laptop and software and an external ECU OBD2 programmer.
If the price is right I also have a lot of spares from when I stripped a parts only car. including T-Tops. interior and a rear screen.

With all the modifications. and upgrades. import and registration the car owes me £15000. I'm looking for offers in excess of £12000. If you look in the states and lucky enough to find one they go for as much as $30000. You will struggle to find a Trans-Am/Firebird in this condition let alone another Firehawk. These have hit there lower price and are just going up in value - it is a collectors car after all.

If you search You Tube for Martin Stockwell you will see some videos of the car being collected from the states when I brought it as well as the Android modifications for the 8" screen.

Bit of info for those that don't know the order of Pontiac and Camaro Model lineup (Starting from base model is as follows). I'm sure some will argue its different!

Pontiac = Firebird -> Trans-Am -> Formula -> WS6 -> Firehawk

Chevrolet = RS -> Z28 -> F1 (Z28 with appearance package) -> SS

The Camaro SS was SLPs production model but is on par with the WS6. Chevrolet didn't produce an in-house performance model like Pontiac did with the WS6 and both the base models (RS and Firebird) were V6. The Firehawk is in a league of its own and is more of a collectors edition being made in far few numbers and each being specially numbered.

Lots of interest. and many many watchers. however there are quite a few tyre kickers offering stupid values of a trans-am or ws6 - it isn't one. please read this classified entirely and do your research - look at the prices of these in the states they are going for a lot more and you wont know what you have till it gets here. then you have to convert the lights. service it and register it.

I don't have to sell this vehicle. its for sale because I would like someone to use and enjoy it more then I can (as I have a 1969 GTO I would like to use more).

Remember although this is a near perfect example. it is a 15 year old car and as such does have a couple things that it would benefit from to bring it up to showroom condition - and as such the price I'm after reflects this. however. come down have a look and make an offer based on you actually seeing the vehicle and doing some research of what it is.

American chrome wheels never last long (crap chroming). a lot of people replace them with others but these are the original factory supplied FIREHAWK wheels. I have the details of a company that will do reverse electrolysis (NOT BLAST) the wheels to remove the chrome and re-chrome (quad plate. not triple) @ approx. £150 per wheel or they can be Powder coated (satin black for instance) approx. £80 per wheel. 90% of the composite bonnets suffer from a primer reaction (issue at the factory) and you may see a paint reaction (like the paint has bubbled underneath from rust) - ITS NOT RUST its a plastic bonnet. and its an easy fix. As part of a refresh I was going to put the car through a body shop to bring it up to showroom condition. bonnet and bumpers re-sprayed (stone chips etc) and full wet polish @ approx. £500Recolour of the leather to remove normal wear marks (there are NO rips in the leather) @ approx. £100There is a crack in the driver door card (very common problem on Pontiacs) - I have replacement undamaged door cards and other interior items that will come with it as detailed. If/when I have time I will replace it myself. its not hard. just time consuming undoing everything.

As you can see from the small list it equates to less then £1500 to bring this vehicle to top showroom condition. hence the price I'm asking. if the car doesn't sell this year. I'm not bothered. During the winter when there are no shows to go to I will get the work done. But the price will go up and I will be asking close to £20k. Get it now for much less. enjoy it for the rest of the summer and do those items in the winter yourself ready for next year. The reason I haven't done it now is I wanted to have it out at the shows. which I couldn't do with the wheel and body shop timescales.

SHOWS I WILL TRY TO ATTEND

Recently I had been at Brands Hatch (Speedfest) and SantaPod Mopar Nationals.

Bungalow Diner - Marks Tey - 4th Aug

Empire Diner - Witham - 20th Aug

Keep checking as I will attend as many as possible when I have checked my diary.
