1977 Austin Allegro 1500 Vanden Plas (automatic) – 2208 miles from new!

Supplied and registered new on 17/11/77 by Elliott's Of Bideford. The car has covered just 2208 miles from new (two thousand two hundred & eight miles). Elliott's of Bideford have carried out all servicing and MOT's right up until the car was put into dry storage twelve years ago. Elliott's Garage is still going. now a Citroen franchised main dealer. have supplied a letter stating this and confirming the mileage as being correct. The car has many of its old MOT's and tax discs as well as bills for work carried out. It even has the original brochure and Vanden Plas owners' handbook. The logbook states that the car has had one former keeper. but both keepers were from north Devon and both used Elliott's for MOT and servicing.

The car itself is in fantastic condition as you would expect. The inside is like new with the seats and carpets in near perfect condition. The chrome is in very good condition and both front and rear bumpers are straight and true. The bodywork is also in fantastic order. the car has been garaged all its life and the wings/inner wings. sills etc are in beautiful condition. I don't think the boot of the car has ever been used. The carpet is perfect and underneath the carpet the boot floor is exactly as it was the day it left the factory. Under the bonnet again the car is totally original and proper. There are a couple of ‘blemishes' in the paintwork but to be honest these were probably there when it left the factory.

This really is a unique car. It is 36 years old of course so isn't absolutely perfect but it really does look fantastic in my opinion and with that mileage the engine has barely been ‘run in'. I just re-read my listig and i notice that I forgot to mention how the car runs and drives.

The engine runs sweetly and is perfectly quiet. the gearbox engages smoothly there are no noises that there shouldn't be. Its all as you would expect of a car with this mileage to be honest.  I have added a picture of the engine bay as well. Apologies for forgetting to mention these things in the first place.
