A great opportunity for an individual or specialist company to purchase my part-restored 1978 AMV8. To my knowledge. because I haven't itemized/logged every part that I have. the car is complete apart from the front and rear windscreens which I understand were broken whilst the car was transported to the previous owner. Lots of work done by me over the last 6 years but now very close to my 3 score years and ten so it is becoming more difficult for me to carry out the further work required. I have the vehicle on a CJAutos NBN chassis tilter - heavy brackets. specially-made by CJAutos for the AMV8. attach to the tilter and bolt to specific points at the front and rear of the chassis. enabling the whole vehicle to be turned through 360 degrees making easy access to under-body parts. £2. 00 worth of gear! When I bought the vehicle it was a rolling chassis but I have removed the steering rack and anti-roll bar from the front end and all of the rear axle and suspension which means that it cannot now be rolled out of my garage on its wheels (I have all 5 alloys). The tilter does have wheels which can be attached to the base of the tilting framework so it may be possible to fit these and roll the whole assembly with the car on it out of the garage. The aluminium bodywork was in primer when I purchased the car and still is. I have seen the bodywork on some 'barn find' examples and I would say that mine has very few digs and dents compared to a lot of them. Doors. boot lid and bonnet had all been removed prior to my purchase but are all present. The car was originally Fern Green. The chassis had a number of places where rust had made holes or perforated the metalwork. notably the boot floor and sides. I removed all of the underbody ancillaries - fuel lines. brake pipes. aluminium protective plates rear suspension components and the complete rear axle. The removed rear suspension parts have been cleaned and re-painted in black protective paint. I then de-rusted the complete chassis. Although I have a small welding plant I employed a specialist welder to cut out all of the rusted areas. make up new matching steel plates/parts/box sections and weld them in. retaining as much of the original chassis as possible but ensuring all was sound. I used Rustbuster's Epoxy Mastic 121 to seal it (apart from under a very few small areas where the tilter brackets attached). The exhaust is stainless steel and has cleaned up very nicely. The carpets are all there and not torn but not in great condition - mostly grubby/dirty. The roof lining had rotted and new is required but the stays are present. Chrome on the side windows will clean up and the glass is present. The upholstery is all there and is a khaki colour. Apart from a split seam on one of the main seats it's not in too bad condition. I removed the dashboard. having labelled up the wiring connections to the instruments and then removed the instruments from the dashboard. Dashbaord and instruments will need attention. The petrol tank has been perforated by rust in 2 places - I am unsure whether it is repairable or will need to be renewed. The Chassis number is V8/11807/RCAS. The engine number under the chassis number is V540/1807/S. In 2002 this original engine was taken by the previous owner to an Aston Martin specialist located in E. Sussex. The block was found to have a (so I was told) hairline crack and another engine was therefore sourced in Warwickshire and a complete engine rebuilt using parts from both engines plus renewal of any parts required. The engine number that appears on the complete engine is V580/2279/S. I still have the original block and the 8 pistons from the original engine. When I bought the car I poured engine oil into the pistons via the plug sockets and turned the engine over manually via the drive shaft connection plate. I have repeated this regularly throughout the time I have owned the car. The carburetters are still wrapped in the bubble wrap from the specialist. The gearbox is a 3-speed auto. I have an 'exploded view' manual which details all of the parts on the car in sections. I have also taken several hundred photographs during the restoration work I have done and have them on my computer. The car is on a SORN. I have very limited details on it's history but the car was in California for a period - I have 4 quite odd-looking wheel trims that fit over the alloy wheels. covering up all of the aluminium. I am located in Kent and would welcome anyone wishing to come to look at the car before deciding to make a bid - I understand that any potential buyer may be reluctant to 'take a chance' on buying it unseen. I am reluctant to let it go as I did want to see it on the road but I think it is a good opportunity for someone as it is actually more of a 'known quantity' than some of the ones that I have seen requiring restoration that have recently been for sale (and bought!) at auctions. I will only accept payment by Bank Transfer direct to my account. Buyer must make their own arrangements to remove the car and parts from my garage.

Hello there
I am also a fellow Aston nut and have owned several over the last 20 years! These days I'm unable to stump up the vast sums that are being asked for very rough examples but your car is interesting.
I'm now based in France but am coming back to the UK in Sept so could pop in and have a look.
If you have any more pictures of the body, bulkheads, etc please let me have them.
Why oh why do we bother. Because there is something special about Astons!
Best
Tim
