***RELISTING DUE TO NON PAYING EBAY MEMBER - PLEASE DO NOT WASTE MY TIME OR YOURS. BID TO BUY***

Hi all. /p>

Due to a lack of storage space. I have up for auction my 1965 Honda S600 coupe.

I've tried my best to hold on to the little car but unfortunately must finally let it go. Please only bid or enquire if genuinely interested. Apologies in advance for the long ad.

This car has had a drivetrain conversion to full Datsun 1200 and was previously registered and driven with this engine number in South Australia.

Please note the car does need a few minor things to finish it off. I will put as much detail in here as I can. but for any genuine enquiries please send me a message.

History & registration;

I purchased this car from rural NSW 1. 5 years ago where the previous owner had the body work undergo a bare metal restoration at a cost of $6000 (with photos) and the front seats and door trims re-trimmed. I purchased the car not running and essentially half completed and have spent a lot of time and effort to get the car running and together. as described below.

The owner before the last had this car registered in South Australia and the engine number on the previous registration label (2008) matches the engine in the car. which Vicroads advises me is sufficient to have this car registered in Victoria. Please research at your own leisure; I've included a photo of the chassis and engine numbers for this purpose.

Body:

The body has been restored inside and out. New outer sill panels. inner panels and lower door skins were fitted during a bare metal restoration in 2010. Please note. the body is not perfect and does have a few imperfections. Please do not expect to buy this car and win trophies! That said. it is very presentable as shown in the photos.

I have recently had the interior removed. all floors and sills were wire wheeled back to bare metal. rust treated and re-tarred to freshen up the near 50 year old body shell. The entire inside of the car was then coated in satin black acrylic to seal it all and once again this is shown in the photos attached.

All the factory badges. stainless moulds and britework are there and this was a deciding factor in me buying the car with all the hard to get and expensive items being there.

Interior:

Recently semi restored interior. including the sound deadening and insulation.

All underlay has been replaced in the car. front carpets are new as are the door trims and front seats of course. The rear half of the car was thoroughly steam cleaned and refitted.

Mechanicals:

A complete Datsun A12 engine. gearbox & differential has been fitted to this car seemingly a long time ago when such conversions were commonplace. This car has been set up better than most I have seen with the rear end mounted on all factory Honda mounting points and as far as I know the body has not been cut to accommodate the engine change in anyway. This is the same for the engine bay and transmission tunnel.

The engine and mechanicals look to be in very healthy condition. with not even a hint of smoke on start up after sitting 5 years in storage! It has always been filled with oil of course.

Twin SU carburettors are fitted and have recently been professionally cleaned and tested and give a nice. sporty note along with custom sized Uni-filter elements.

I've had a number of consumable items replaced in the engine bay such as filters. ignition lead & water hoses.

Wheels:

I manages to source somewhat ‘period' 15x7 mesh alloy wheels which I've had colour matched to Honda Type R grey and give the little a car a tough. sporty look.

The car will also come with a set of 13 inch steel wheels and new tyres should the new owner prefer something more contemporary. Note. both sets of wheels are sold with the car.

Extras:

There is a full box of spares that also comes with the car. which include interior plastics and trim panels. new fender mirrors. rear hatch window surround and a few other new rubbers and bibs and bobs. See last pic.

What does it need;

While the car is very presentable and driveable. it does need a little love to finish it off!

-          Dash & dash cluster: The gauges are a mix of Datsun and original Honda and aren't working. Some have been simply disconnected and some may need repair. I intended to replace all with new period gauges (vdo etc) however will leave this up to the new owner to reconnect it all and tinker with.

-          Heater: The original Honda heater has been removed but will come with the car.

-          Interior: With the new. thicker underlay installed. some of the original trims need reworking to fit properly such as the shifter boot. the tunnel trim etc.

-          Engine: It could do with a tune to get the best out of the little thing! But it does get along very well as it is.

Condition of sale;

Please note the following;

-          Interstate buyers are welcome. freight to be organised and paid for by buyer of course

-          If you have a feedback rating of less than 5 please contact me before bidding

-          Payment by direct deposit is preferred. car will only leave once full payment has been made

-          Buyer assumes all responsibility for the car once sale goes through

-          If payment made via pay-pal buyer is to cover all fees associated

Thanks for reading and happy bidding!

******EDIT - VIDEO & MORE INFO******

The weather was nice this morning so I managed to get a quick video of the car. apologies for the wind noise!http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=G9hFBQxi6ww&feature=youtu. be
Also. please read the full description before sending me queries. I've had a number of questions that are already covered. Yes its a long write up. but take the time to read it please. Here's some points to answer a few common questions; - This is not a car ready for immediate daily transport! I've tried to illustrate that a lot of hard work has been done and with a bit of time and attention. it could be a great little streeter - depending how fussy you are. Please remember it's almost 50 years old.  - The restoration was done in 2010 and to a standard I would say best suited to occasional street use. The car is not in concourse condition and it was never built or intended to be. Nor is it priced as such! Myself and the previous owner intended to put the rare little Honda on the road and not be afraid to enjoy or use it. and the condition and photos reflect that.  - The car does NOT have an engineer certificate. but as mentioned I was advised by Vicroads this is not needed as proof or prior registration with this engine is evident. See description for more details and please research your own state/territory prior to bidding.  - Please don't send me low offers
Thank you
