Torana Hatchback in QLD

Torana Hatchback

I purchased this a while back but it is time to move on. These are great cars and are appreciating in value at a rapid pace. If you are looking for a great Australian car to do up then this may be the car.

Mechanical

Holden red 173. 6 Cylinder engine with Aussie 4 speed gearbox and starts stops and steers well. I was going to get this car registered and would be close to roadworthy in Queensland. Most electrical working apart the from interior light and fuel gauge. It has some new parts such as muffler. brake master cylinder. rear brake cylinders and all flexible brake lines. This car could be quickly put back on the road while you decide the best way to rebuild it properly.

Body

C pillars. rear ¼ panels. rear hatch hinge have all been repaired by a previous owner. Sill panels and floor panels are good with mostly just surface rust. The driver floor has about 3 rust holes all around the size of a 10 cent piece. There is one hole in the boot area about the size of a 5 cent piece. Please note that this car is not ready to paint although it is in undercoat. The doors are very good condition and the bonnet is in great condition. All other panels are very usable depending on your ability and level of expectation. This car has never had flared guards fitted and the rear wheel arches are in great condition. The edges have been rolled but could be brought back to standard condition. This car is not ready for paint.

Interior

The interior is all there apart from the door trims and some console trim. In my opinion the trim needs totally replacing or refurbishing (some foam missing from seats). I have been collecting parts and I would think that the only thing missing from the trim is the front door trims. There are new door seals and new rear window seals to go with the car. The car will be sold with the console. two spare front seats and a radio.

Windows

All windows are there and some spares as well. The hatch chrome trim is there and the metal nipples are still on the car for the trim to be fitted.  

Bad

No ID plates. Does have a chassis number and can be registered in any state.

Previous body and rust repairs (rust has been cut and plated)

Rust still in the body near the rear hatch area and some in the lower radiator panel area.

Rust in the tail light cup/recessed area (behind tail lights)

Good

Drivetrain is sound

No rust in plenum area

No rust in sill panels

Minimal rust in floors. Some holes in drivers floor and one in the boot area

Other spare to come with the car

Never had flared guards fitted

Appreciating asset. very collectable car

I would love to keep this car as Hatchbacks are definitely one of my favourite cars (I have had a couple in the past). However this one needs to go so I can spend some time on another project.
