EQUIPMENT

EXTERIOR
This lovely Beetle presents extremely well with only minor cosmetic imperfections to the bonnet. the worst of which is a blemish just below the grille vent. The bright work is in good condition with only very minor pitting around the rear quarter window surrounds and some light peppering of the off-side drivers mirror. Rubbers and plastics have aged very well. The car as a whole is in very good order. with chassis rails and under carriage showing very little signs of wear or corrosion.

INTERIOR
The car has the correct navy blue seats. free of rips or tears. with only slight sag of the drivers thigh bolster to report whilst the headlining is pleasingly taut and very clean with no fraying or distortion. A Pioneer head unit / speaker system has been sympathetically installed – speakers nestling nicely on the rear deck and positioned in the shelf under the dashboard. Carpets are clean and tidy. some recent mats ensure that they stay that way.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This Beetle fires readily into life and settles quickly with that unique flat 4 warble. Although performance is fairly sedate compared to more modern machinery. the car pulls nicely through the gears with a minimum of fuss. A recent service ensures the car is mechanically up-to-date and ready to enjoy.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
Unmarked Limited edition steel wheels wrapped in new Toyo rubber. The entire braking system has been overhauled in August of last year. and the car performs admirably in pulling up quickly and effectively.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new to VW Fenns of Burton on 22/08/78. A very well known car to Tarsel Motors of Thurmaston. whom serviced and MOT's the car regularly. there is a huge file of history and records to back up mileage and provenance. Most recently serviced in August of 2014. with the aforementioned braking system overhaul. valve clearances set. spray jet service and plugs. Service Record and Owner's manual both present and correct. Finally there is a wonderful print out of correspondence between the then owner and chairman of the VW Beetle Last Edition register of owners to confirm registration. engine and chassis numbers to align the car within the final 300 examples.
