1935 Rolls Royce 20/25 Mulliner Sedanca in pleasantly patinated original condition. Chassis number GLG16

The car has seen little but regular use until seven years ago when it was sold into a Moscow Based collection due to the advancing age of the then owner.

Recently recommissioned. the car is in superb running order. The engine starts readily on the first turn & needs minimal starting carb' before settling down to an even idle. Right away the car started off the switch 5 times in a row. attesting to the excellent compression of the engine. (ie by allowing the engine to stop. witching the ignition back on. then quickly retarding the ignition which creates a spark & allows the engine to waft into life all by itself without recourse to the starter motor or starting handle. )

The exterior of the car is deep rich brown over cream & presents extremely well. The body has very pleasing lines with a graceful flow when viewed in side profile. Twin covered sidemounts are fitted to the running boards & twin trumpet horns to the front. A useful luggage shelf folds out from the rear. Being a sedanca the front section of the roof slides back & stows away behind a hatch in the roof bulkhead allowing for open motoring in fine weather; it may be closed during inclement weather.

The engine bay is tidily detailed & retains its original bakelite mushroom coil housing. although the car is now running on a more recent coil. The car is running well off its original auto-vac petrol feed. A complete tool kit is located in a slide out drawer under the front seat. A period owner's manual also comes with the car much besmirched by grimy chauffeurs fingers!!

Inside the car is brown leather to the front & rear which has been re-coloured as attested to by a receipt from Connolly Bros. Overall the condition is very good. whilst not being new. Lovely features abound in the interior: picnic tables with integral storage boxes. a rear mounted speedometer & clock. very Art Deco rear alcove mirrors with lights that still work. etc etc. Brown carpets in excellent order complete the ensemble.

All in all an imposing car with considerable presence & lovely mechanics. ready for the next chapter in her life.

Comments and questions to the seller:

My father LM Springer bought this car in the early 70s. It was in a bad way having been stored in a barn. He restored the car, repainted it (it was black) and collected the various tools at Rolls Royce rallies. We took part in the 1977 Jubilee Rolls Royce parade past the Queen at Windor Castle and Ascot.

from Terry Reynolds, dated 09 november 2017
For your information, l drove this car in an episode of the Poirot series, called the Double Clue. I collected the car from Sussex, drove it to Reading in Berkshire and it featured as the transport for Poorly and the Russian Countess
