We are pleased to offer this 1965 Triumph TR4A. presented in
Signal Red with matching red interior. This particular car was
first registered on 9th April 1965. making it a very
early example of the model. The TR4A replaced the TR4 in March 1965
as a more sophisticated marque than its predecessor. Externally
there was little difference apart from a revised grille. side
indicators and badging. However. the chassis was radically
re-designed to incorporate an independent rear suspension set up.
The giveaway was the attitude of the rear wheels; the TR4A now
having an all around independent suspension was advanced for sports
cars of this class. which made its competitors. such as the MGB and
the Austin Healey. look archaic.

Purchased in 2012 by the current owner. EUO 895C has undergone
some sympathetic renovation with the intention of maintaining a
look and feel of originality. Prior to purchase. the engine was
overhauled in 2010 and importantly includes an unleaded cylinder
head and a stainless steel exhaust system. In addition. a recent
clutch. telescopic rear damper and alternator conversion. that
assists in todays traffic conditions. have been added. Between 2012
and 2013 further care was taken to maintain the coachwork; the
wings were removed and the inner and outer sill sections replaced. br/>with special care being taken to the alignment of the doors. The
rest of the body and chassis were found to be in good order. as
might be seen by the photographic record of these works. stored on
a CD. within the history file.

On inspection. the coachwork presents very well and is
complemented by the recently overhauled and powder-coated wheels
plus a new set of Vredestein tyres to house them. The interior
boasts a walnut dashboard and a set of inertia seat belts are
fitted. with the seats and door cards still the originals in line
with the vendor's wishes to maintain the feel of a factory car. The
mohair hood is in very good order with the additional benefit of a
tonneau cover when the hood is stowed. On a recent test. the car
started easily and performed well. with good oil pressure and the
overdrive operating as it should in third and fourth gears. A large
history files accompanies this 4A with bills totaling in the region
of £12. 00 between 2012 and 2013. An MoT test certificate valid
until August 2016 also resides within the file along with its UK
V5C registration document.

This is an early UK-supplied righthand drive Triumph TR4A that
still retains the looks and feel of a car in period. without its
soul being restored out of it. a fact that is hard to find these
days.
