1935 Austin Seven 2 Seat Opal Tourer for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 350 votes
Our little 1935 Austin Seven Opal 2 seater Tourer is finshed in dark blue with black wings. which seems a popular colour combination for this model. With 5 former Keepers in 80 years. the Austin is believed to have had a minor restoration some 20 years ago (unfortunately no documentation) with a respray. however the original grey paint is still visable in the rear storage compartment.

Being a 1935 model. this Austin has the more desirable four-speed synchromesh gearbox and a 750cc engine.

The Austin is in a typically oily rag condition cosmetically but is solid throughout. The engine has been recently serviced with new oil. plugs and coolant. along with new coolant manifolds. gaskets and hoses. so it's running very well now. It comes with new spare points and condenser. though I haven't fitted these as it's running fine.

The crossply tyres are good with plenty of tread.

The Austin's previous owners. a Mr & Mrs Arnold. used it to run around the village for 15 years until they became ill healthed to drive any more.

As a car of this age is very much a labour of love. there are some obvious improvements that could be done to finish off the Austin. such as a full rubber matting set (still available) and perhaps a re-fresh of the steering wheel. However the foldable hood and side screens are in very good order with no tears.

All the gauges work correctly. with the engine maintaining its oil pressure correctly. On the road it drives as could be expected for an 80 year old vehicle with the steering and braking systems all working as they should.

Overall this is a good example of quite a rare model. It's running. driving and can be used just as it is. or a great opportunity for the next owner to make cosmetic improvements.
