The Taimar was introduced at the October 1976 British International Motor Show. using the same mechanicals as the 3000M. The name was inspired by the name of girl called Tayma. The opening hatchback alleviated the previous difficulty of manoeuvring luggage over the seats to stow it in the cargo area. and the hatch itself was opened electrically via a solenoid actuated latch triggered by a button on the driver's doorjamb. Over its three-year production. a total of 395 normally aspirated Taimars were built.

The vendor states that this 1977 Taimar is 1 of less than 400 manufactured. with an Essex V6 Engine. It is a matching numbers car. and had a replacement chassis in 1992 which was done by a TVR specialist. and the invoice is supplied. Fitted with unleaded heads in 1999 with receipt. There are many invoices for work done in the past thirty years. including a copy of the first registration from Blackpool factory. There is a list of previous owners. The car has five original Wolfrace alloys from the factory. The solenoid operated rear tail gate still operates and makes this a more practical classic. It is unrestored and is a blank canvas for the next owner to either keep the lovely original patina. or do a sympathetic restoration. It was briefly registered abroad and was re registered in the UK with the original registration number. this is etched in the glass as a security measure.
