EXTERIOR
This example of the E28 M5 comes in the smart Diamond black metallic paintwork. After some careful love and attention whilst with us in preparation. the bodywork is gleaming as it once did in the BMW showroom in 1986 showing a deep metallic flake with a beautiful glassy finish. Under close inspection. there are some expected light stone chips to be found towards the front of the car although pleasingly lights remain clear and free of chips either side of that famous kidney grille. The fit and finish of the dark shadow-line trim is in fine order with plastics and rubbers showing excellent integrity and colour. With only 187 units produced in RHD. this is a great example of the original M5 that will forever stand as the definitive Q car.

INTERIOR
Despite being able to see off most super cars in the 1980′s. the M5s interior is a very comfortable and accommodating place to seat four adults for a long journey. The build quality is second to none and even after almost 30 years. all of the interior fixings. trim and switch gear still feel tight and well screwed together. The leather seats show very little signs of age. with no wear to the bolsters and all the adjustment controls work as they should. The BMW tool kit is still complete. housed in the boot area and the carpet throughout the interior remains in excellent condition. A Sony head unit with USB compatibility offers some more modern considerations for in car entertainment.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This car has been meticulously maintained over the years by well known BMW Specialists and sits in fine mechanical order. The all important timing chain has been replaced and there are stacks of invoices detailing all previous work. Even by today's standards. this is a very quick car. and it still pins you back in your seat as the revs build past 4. 00rpm. The fantastic M88 engine is mated to the venerable Gertrag 5 speed manual gearbox that handles the engines power perfectly. shifting up through the gears smoothly and with precision.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The E28 M5 is fitted with the original 16 inch wheels with the appropriate offset. All the wheels are in excellent condition having been refurbished and show no kerb marks or blemishes. The wheels are shod in a matching set of Goodyear Eagle tyres that all have a good amount of tread remaining. The brakes were fully overhauled in 2009 that included new calipers. discs and pads and as such work brilliantly pulling the car up quickly in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE
This E28 M5 was first registered in November of 1986. It comes with a fully stamped BMW service book and a huge file detailing all the work that has been carried out. The file also contains many old tax discs and all the MOT certificates dating back to 1989 to further verify the mileage.
