Incredibly just 9093 miles from new. This 1974 Spitfire is the definition of a timewarp car. At a glance it looks as though it has received a full concours standard rebuild. but in fact never been restored and remains completely original. It currently wears a new set of Minilite-style alloy wheels with new tyres. but comes with the original steel wheels that still wear the original tyres it was supplied on new!

This Spitfire has had just two owners. The first from new in 1974 until 2010. He is reputed to have kept the car. virtually unused. in his kitchen. An unusual thing to do but the result is a perfectly preserved Spitfire.

We have the original bill of sale and all corresponding order documentation from Henlys of Chingford on 28/01/74 to a Mr R J Lewis of Cardiff. He specified an unusual and attractive Emerald Green with black trim. and treated himself to the one option of head restraints (at a cost of £11). bringing the original sale price to £1102. 89. In addition all the original books and manuals are present in perfect condition.

The paperwork indicates that by 1994 the mileage had reached 6652. and by 2009 shortly before it passed to its second keeper it had risen to 6867. Limited but regular use by the last owner over the last five years has seen this rise to just 9092 miles.

What is quite incredible about this car is the condition of the underside. It simply looks as though it rolled off the production line last week. The suspension is still superbly finished in the original black paint with no corrosion. The brake pipes still in their grey factory paint. and the underside in factory Emerald paint. It has never been undersealed and is completely corrosion free.

The interior is simply ‘as new'. There is little more to say about it!

The paint is absolutely flawless throughout and our paint depth gauge confirms that the car is entirely original paint. It has never had any bodywork and is absolutely immaculate. Quite incredible.

The chrome-work and rubber trim is in similar condition and the original hood is perfect.

As you'd expect the Triumph runs and drives like a new car and it has just passed its MoT with no advisories.

This car really has to be seen to be believed. We don't know if you would ever to able to find a comparable car. An amazing and unrepeatable opportunity for the serious Triumph collector.
