Here's my LHD Citroen ID19B for sale!
I bought the car from a guy in the South of France almost 2 years ago and he had recently had it renovated to a good standard. nice paintwork and complete overhaul. This is a manual D Series Citroen. probably the least complicated of the lot with good engine performance and the classic citroen suspension and powered steering. It's a dream to drive.
There wasn't much in the way of history with it all got was the Carte Gris (which i had to hand over to DVLA for UK registration) and the old french plates which I still have.
Since registering it in the UK I have enjoyed using it as my everyday runaround. it has been very reliable formt he start. I was concerned about keeping it rustfree so spent a considerably sum having it wax injected . and I have had it regularly serviced by Citroen Classics with no expense spared. The hydraulic pump was showing signs of age so as a precaution I had that changed but other than that it has been a great car for reliability. I fitted rear seat belts so the kids could enjoy the ride too.
The paintwork overall is very good. not concourse but certainly not shabby. Originally I think the car would have been burgundy with a white roof but the silver looks amazing. Hopefully you can view the movie I put on here. https://www. dropbox. com/s/3cm0uh89v22km5h/2013-05-06%2014. 56. 23. mov . There are a couple of small spots of bubbling and a small scratch but all very minor and will give the new owner something to do! The rear indicators need refixing within the trumpets . they have a tendency to come loose because they are missing a couple of retaining bolts. again an easy fix if you can be bothered. i just stick them back in when they drop down!
One thing common to all classic cars is rust in the fuel tank. I change the inline petrol filter (60p a pop) every few weeks (2 minutes job) to avoid any muck getting into the carb. No big deal.
One last cosmetic thing it needs some new poppers to keep the front passenger door card intact when you close the door. a minor annoyance that I havent got round to fixing. You can see from the video that it's a little loose.
Road Tax of course is free. I run here on normal grade unleaded with a fuel supplement.
I have always wanted to own one of these and now I have. she has been a really great vehicle to drive (or almost float) around in. It lived up to all my expectations. but I am now ready to move onto to the next classic on my list.
I will want cash on pickup or the funds cleared before pick up.
I welcome any inspection you may want to make.
