Jaguar E Type 1963 Series 1 Manual Coupe

Jaguar E - Type coupe. 1963. Series 1.

Left-Hand-Drive. two-seater. 4. 2 litre in-line six cylinder engine. 4-speed manual transmission.

Original colour was Dark Blue. but is now Silver.

It appears that the original 3. 8 litre engine has been swapped for a 4. 2 litre. The previous owner had no knowledge of the whereabouts of the original engine. The gearbox is the original unit.

It also appears that the original Series 1 seats have been swapped for later model seats. The early seats had a reputation for being uncomfortable.

I found this vehicle whilst on holiday in Dallas. Texas. USA. and it was imported into Australia. in 1990.

It has been dry-stored for the 25 years I have owned it.

It has sustained a rear-end collision. I have removed the paint. and body-filler. to get a good idea of the damage area - See photo.

Due to the mostly dry Texas climate. there is a relatively minor amount of rust in the usual areas of the sills. doors. and floors.

The floor rust appears to be confined to the pans that were added. by the factory. to increase foot-well room.

For a 52-year-old vehicle. she is not too bad. Rust detail photos available on request.

The vehicle was bought as it is now. The parts that are missing in the photos. were boxed. and sent inside the car. and will be supplied to the buyer. I can supply photos of the boxed parts.

The only missing part I'm aware of. is the front windscreen. which is usually replaced in a restoration.

This beautiful Jaguar was going to be my retirement restoration project. but situations change. so it is now reluctantly For Sale.
