1995 Mazda 121 'Bubble' (with 'golf ball-look' performance pack)

This dark green machine. with its dimpled exterior. may well be the fastest 1. 3-litre 121 in Australia. Just as a golf ball is covered in indentations for enhanced aerodynamics. mother nature intervened a few years ago to take its performance to a whole new level.

Seriously. we reluctantly sell this zippy and reliable 5-speed car after 20 years of faithful service. In those two decades it's only had two mechanical repairs of note: a new water pump and a new starter motor.

Mechanically it's great. Looks aren't everything!

It's spent the last 10 years being left at train stations. bus stops and the airport. You'll never worry about it getting (more) scratches. It's ideal for short trips. We now need to travel further afield so are updating.

Please note. its rego expires on May 29. It passed with flying colours 12 months ago. only needing two new tyres. Everything works. except the interior light and. sometimes. the horn. Oh. and the driver's door requires mild slamming to close it. Sides of front seats have tears. but Target car seat covers - available in a range of colours and styles - will soon cover them.

Air-conditioning works a treat.
