A very pleasant. sound and appealing example of the desirable 4½ Litre MKVI. in just the right condition to use and enjoy. being smart. correct and attractive. but not so pristine that you would be afraid to use it! I took the car for a run when it arrived. and was very impressed. as it really does drive very nicely. with a lively engine. excellent gearbox. steering. brakes. etc. making it very enjoyable to use. even at modern traffic speeds. which it copes with well. It also rides nicely on the Bridgestone tyres fitted. which suit it well. making the steering accurate. virtually eliminating the tendency to 'tramline' as these cars sometimes can. Comes with the original logbook from 1952. an impressive selection of original tools. and still retains the original registration number. MGY 7!

Chassis No. B218NZ. Reg No. MGY 7. £29. 00.

Snippets:
Mr. Harold Vivian Stanley Calman only owned B218NZ for 5 months before he sold the car to E J Biggs & Son (est. 1866) jewellers of renown whose customers included Queen Mary who was the betrothed of two heirs to the British Throne – Prince Albert (died 1892) and in July 1893 she married Prince George who later became King George V. One of Biggs most intricate works was “Wings of the Sunset”. a black opal set between a pair of wings encrusted with diamonds. In 1960 B5218NZ was with W J H Butterfield (1920/2000) - inventor of medical equipment. Professor of Experimental Medicine at Guys (1958); Vice-chancellor of Nottingham University. For his service to medicine he was knight in 1978 & created a life peer in 1988. His father built lightweight racing motorcycles and John used to accompany his father to various events such as the TT races when. in need of material to stuff some valves the engineers would use John's nappies! The 4th owner was also in the medical profession both – Dr Thomas Hanley who had also practiced at Guy's Hospital in the 1950s.
