An Indian car originally supplied to one A. H. Mooser by Rolls Royce Bombay; The Chassis records show it to have been fitted from new with Barker open touring coachwork. Subsequently shipped to South Africa where it spent many years with a collector who used it sparingly & embarked on a thorough restoration program of the mechanics. During the sojourn in South Africa the wings were replaced with the early style wings we see on the car today.

The engine has been completely rebuilt & runs in near silence starting readily off the retard lever even when the car has been stood hot for some time. Compression is superb & the power of the car far above average accelerating the car up hills with ease in top gear. Since bringing the car back to the UK it has been fully serviced & set up by marque specialists The Priory Vintage Car Co.

The car is freshly painted to a high standard resplendent in mid blue with hand applied burgundy coach lines. At the same time the chassis was completely stripped. blasted & painted in black.

The interior is period black leather in superb condition & not needing replacement. so was retained in situ. To the back of the car is a rich crushed burgundy velvet hood lining making the rear a very pleasant place to sit. Burgundy carpets front & rear complete the ensemble.

The hood is a brand new item of black mohair fabricated in two parts. This allows for motoring in three different configurations;fully closed to the rear with open sided covered drivers compartment. Fully open to the front with closed rear & fully open front & rear in touring configuration. The rear compartment has side screens which snap easily into place. A division is fitted to the car with two sliding glass panels. The division however is simply removed by undoing two knurled nuts & then lifting it out. The car may be used non division style in both open & closed configurations. The Z profile windshield is of the folding variety giving a very sporting look when folded down.

The Barker bodywork. body number 2999 is extremely imposing giving the car real presence on the road. It is tight & rattle free with the timbers being in excellent condition.

The wheels have been stove enameled & a set of 5 brand new beaded edge tyres fitted. (By hand with lots of tyre soap>) Easy when one knows how. A wheel spanner is supplied with the car.

Various items including the gear lever. gear gate & pram Irons have been re-nickelled to bring them back to their original lustre. The Radiator has also been removed. polished & fitted with a brand new core so the car runs cool with no overheating tendencies.

This unusual ghost is a pleasure to drive. Light on the steering. easy gear changes & giving a commanding view of the passing countryside. The semi torpedo coachwork makes a refreshing change to the cookie cutter London to Edinburgh & Roi des Belges bodies we so often see.
