FOR SALE is my 1974 Pontiac Formula Super Duty. one of 57 ever made. What makes this car even more rare. is the fact that Firebirds in 1974 were not offered in BLACK. Yet there are rumored to be 2 that were built in black. AND this is ONE of those TWO. See PHS where color is left blank.

This is a numbers matching car. with a replacement Super Duty carb. Automatic Transmission and A/C. The previous owner lived in California and decided to take off the A/C. as he said there was no need for it in California. The car has has some nice options. such as Safety Track. 8 Track. Rear Window defroster. Rear Deck Lid spoiler. and Rally II's that have been replaced with Honeycombs.

At some point in the cars life. it had a mild cosmetic restoration. The odometer shows 70. 00 miles and I believe this to be correct. The sheet metal is very typical of GM sheet metal. This is not a fully restored car. but shows very well and would be a real hit at any car show. During the cosmetic restoration. the red oxide undercoating was painted black. As you can see from the pictures. there is no beating a California car for quality and integrity. This car has all of its original body panels and no rust. except for a little surface rust on the inside of the trunk lid. The door edge guards running the length of the body appear to be GM originals. but must have been added at some point in the cars life. As is the case with most of these that are installed. they tend to make the door sheetmetal wavy around them. The lower rockers moldings are missing from this car. but I do have a set of reproductions.

I do have the firewall A/C components as well as an original set of Rally II wheels that need to be restored. with NOS trim rings and center caps.

Formula Super Duty cars are on all collectors "must have" lists and they are hard to find. This one is extremely rare and in black is absolutely one in a MILLION or at least ONE of 57 produced or 1 of 2 in this configuration in BLACK.  GOOD LUCK bidding and hope that you bid often for this rare item.
