Pontiac : Trans Am T Top

OK. I have a Solar Gold 1979 Trans Am with T-Tops for sale. It has a 4. 9-301 with auto transmission. The mileage is low. at less than 86. 00. I purchased this from the original owners wife. The car had not been on the road for about 15 years from what I was told. It was stored in a dry vehicle storage facility.

The car does run. drive. shift. start and stop. I have had it out on the roads and it is safe to drive. Brakes have been gone thru and a new dual exhaust installed.

The car has solid floors. trunk. frame rails and subframe.  the only rust found is pictured. which is inside the passenger door. in the corner by the quarter panel. and on the rear tail panel.  Also has surface rust on very bottom of passenger front fender.

The Trans Am still has most of its original paint and still looks good. The paint work that was done is on the drivers side rear quarter. it was done in the early 80. because the car was backed into at a gas station. Body work was to repair a dent not rust repair. It was done correctly but you can see checking in the bodywork on the top part of the quarter.

Paint is 35 years old and not show quality but very presentable in its current condition. Does have some dings and scratches in the paint. There is also a crease in the drivers side door above the body line. not bad but there. Hard to see in pictures.

Interior is in very nice original condition. Seats. dash. console. door panels. and headliner are original and in very nice condition. Carpet is ok but old and could use replaced. Rear arm rest panels could use redyed or replaced.  All gauges and switches work and all interior lights light up. Windows function correctly. AM/FM 8 track radio works.  Only thing I found not to work was the washer pump (can hear it click but doesn't pump).

All in all the Trans Am is a very solid. complete and clean car. Does run and drive well for a 35 year old car. It could use a basic tune up and some tinkering. but over all in very good condition. Engine doesn't knock. smoke or appear to leak anything. Transmission shifts fine.

A/C in not functioning at the moment but everything is there and connected. probably just needs a charge. Cruise control is still working. All lights and signals function correctly. Has all of the original trunk stuff. like spare tire and inflator can. jack. and original t top bags. Also has all of the original glove box stuff. (owners manual. warrantee cards and such).  

Car is in running and driving condition but is 35 years old so will require some work. Exhaust is new and is true duals without cats. Is still quiet. has summit turbo mufflers.

Ive sold a few cars on ebay and I try to be as honest as possible. I do miss some stuff. so please ask if you have any questions.

I will not release the car until payment has completely cleared my bank. Shipping is the buyers responsibility but will make the car available and help in anyway I can.

OK.    As of today. I did put in new AC Delco spark plugs. Cap. rotor. and oil filter. Valvoline 10w 30 oil.  Autolite wires. and Purolator air filter.

To answer a few common questions. The T tops show no evidence of leaking and the seals for the tops are in good condition. The only weather seals that need replaced are the ones on the outside of the doors. known as the window wipes. there old and brittle.
