You will lose your heart at first sight of the Mercedes-Benz touring sports car type 190SL.   The flowing lines of its body reveal its tasteful elegance. and symbolize its latent power.   In all its forms-coupe. or. open or closed convertible-this is a dream come true.   Yet its harmonious appearance gives hardly an inkling of the liveliness of its engine. of the comfort. safety and luxurious appointments which this car offers in such lavish measure.   Its sturdy four-cylinder engine develops as much as 120 hp; the experience obtained from countless racing victories has left its mark on the chassis. body. brakes and steering.   The fact that the ATE brake booster. overtaking signal lights. and safety glass windshield are part of the standard equipment helps to give you a feeling of secure superiority at the steering wheel.   As for the magnificently upholstered seats. they allow you to relax to an extent you would never have thought possible in a sports car.   These unusual qualities make the Mercedes-Benz 190 SL an ideal car for all occasions: as a distinguished coupe of aristocratic character. you can confidently use it for all your business trips and social events; and after you have quickly removed the top. you have a stylish convertible ready to carry you off on delightful holiday tours.   You can give youself up to the pleasures of open-air motoring with a light heart. for if the sky should suddenly darken. the top can be replaced in a moment. allowing you to snap your fingers at the vagaries of the weather.

Safety and comfort:

Cozy. easily adjusted upholstered seats hold you firmly regardless of how you drive; their color blends pleasantly with that of the other appointments.   At the rear. a third seat can be fitted across the car.   Heating and ventilation can be separately regulated for each side of the car. while the defroster and heater fan assures comfortable temperatures in the stationary car.

Power and speed-at your service:

You can see at a glance the clearly arranged instruments on the attractive panel of the type 190 SL: speedometer. with total and trip odometer. tachometer. oil pressure gauge. coolant thermometer. and fuel gauge as well as the indicator lights.   Together with the control knobs for lights. heater and octane selector. they are sensibly arranged to make driving easier.   There is a clock in the lockable glove compartment lid.   The pair of two-speed windshield wipers always gives you a large. continuous field of vision.   A special loud-tone horn is standard equipment.

The self-supporting frame-floor unit gives great rigidity to the type 190 SL.   Engine. transmission. front suspension and steering are all mounted on the sub-frame. which can be wheeled out from the front; the engine rests on rubber mounts. still further reducing transmission of vibration and noise to the body.   The single-joint swing axle at the rear. and the independent suspension and torsion bar stabilizer at the front result in the outstanding road holding qualities of the type 190 SL.   They insure that the wheels always go where you direct them.   The comfortable springing which eliminates all road shocks. and the smooth self-adjusting recirculating ball-type steering with shock absorber also help to give this fast car superb driving qualities.   The large turbo-cooled brakes grip gently but firmly. and will not lose any of their effectiveness under any circumstances; they are easily operated through the ATE brake booster.

The modern four-cylinder short stroke engine develops 120 hp. and is absolutely smooth.   It gives the type 190 SL a top speed of about 105 to 110 mph.   The well chosen transmission gear ratios and the rapid shift result in really outstanding acceleration and hill  climbing ability.   Maximum speed in 2nd gear is 47 mph. and in 3rd gear about 75 mph.

At Auction Close

Successful "winning" bidder must telephone 972-888-5850 within 3 hours after the auction has ended to verify purchase and make arrangements to complete the transaction.   Additionally. the “winning” bidder must place a deposit for the vehicle within 24 hours of the auctions close.  Deposit amounts will vary based on the purchase price of the vehicle.  ($25K and under: $500. $26k-50K: $1. 00. $51k-100K: $1. 00. $101k-$200k: $2. 00. and $201k and over: $3. 00)  Failure to comply with the deposit requirements will result in the re-listing of the vehicle. and a legal attempt to recover the eBay Fee’s incurred by Southlake Motorcars may be made against the “winning” bidder.

Within (3) business days of the end of auction. full payment must be received either by cashiers-check. certified funds. or wire transfer. If funds are not received. and an alternate arrangement has not been made. the vehicle can and will be made available to other potential buyers on a first-come. first-serve basis.

Vehicle Titles

Southlake Motorcars strives to process your title as soon as possible after your payment is received in full.   However. Texas is a title holding state and it is possible that title processing could take up to 21 days.  

 

Disclosure & Inspection

We have disclosed as much information as possible about this vehicle and aim to only carry quality pre-owned merchandise. Southlake Motorcars highly recommends that all vehicles be inspected BEFORE leaving our facility.   All costs related to an “inspection” are the sole responsibility of the buyer.   

 

Odometer

Due to demo test-drives. inspections. and maintenance the mileage of the vehicle being described might be minimally different than the mileage stated when the vehicle was first listed on eBay.

 

Shipping - Transport of Vehicle

Bidding

All buyers. either through eBay or walk-in. will pay a $175. 00 administrative fee. VIT (Vehicle Inventory Tax) equal to . 002277 of the sale amount. plus a $50. 00 documentary fee. Texas buyers must pay 6. 25% sales tax plus applicable Texas fees. Out-of-state buyers are responsible to know the registration requirements and tax implications for their own state.   Should you have trouble locating such information. Completing Your Transaction

Before the vehicle is released for shipment to the "Buyer". all sale-related and title-related paperwork must be signed and returned completed to the "Seller".
