What you will be bidding on is a very rare 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Retractable Hardtop Convertible.   This is a project car for sure. but it is complete with all of the little hard to replace bits. and many spare parts as well.   This car will be sold as is. where is. with no warranty.   The car has the original 332 cubic inch engine. which was running when parked in 1991.   The vehicle has been stored in dry enclosed storage in Saskatchewan. Canada for the past 25 years.

Here is the good stuff.   The car is 99% or more complete.   (The cap is missing for the hydraulics that operate the roof mechanism. )  The headliner is near perfect.   All of the door handles. knobs. etc are complete.   The dash. though sagged. is complete with original radio. dials. etc in good order.  There are keys for the car.  There are original hub caps. plus other after market caps for the wheels.   The bumpers. grill. other chrome. etc. is all there. but will need re-chroming.   The drive train is complete. with the engine. transmission. differential. untouched for the last three decades.   There are spare fenders for the car.   There are no missing or damaged pats. other than noted above.

Here is the not so good stuff.   The car is rusty in all of the normal rusty spots for these cars.   You can see daylight out through the trunk space around the rear fenders.   The rockers are rusty.   The chrome is pitted. but complete.   The headlight fittings are rusty.   The dash has lost its stuffing and has sagged. but is complete.   The front seat has a huge hole in it at the driver's area.   The windows will need replacing.   You can see from the photos that this is a typical "barn find" although it has been stored in a garage. NOT in a barn.

The story behind this car.   The car was bought new in 1958 in Wisconsin.   It was owned an driven by a woman until 1963 when she needed to park it for a couple of years.   She left it on a farm of friends. where it got pellet gun damage to the windows.   Upon her return to get the car around 1965. she found it to be in need of significant repairs. so she abandoned it. where it sat until 1991. when my niece bought it as part of a number of restoration projects that she and her husband at that time were going to take on.   M niece imported it into Canada. but never got around to the project. and now wants to sell it.   The car has the appropriate paper trail such as bill of sale. etc to allow it to return to the USA.   It could also remain in Canada if such a buyer were around.   It has never been registered in Canada.

This car will be sold AS IS. WHERE IS. AND THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES OR WHATEVER WITH THIS CAR.   It is a project car. and should be considered as such.   Hence the price that we are asking.   The minimum bid price will be set at $6. 00. US dollars.   If you are the successful bidder. a non-refundable deposit of $1. 00 US will be required to secure this car. payable to my PayPal account within three days of the close of bidding.   If you pursue the Buy-it-Now option. the deposit will be due at time of bidding.   The balance of the full purchase price will be due upon pick up of the vehicle. payable in cash. or via e-transfer or other acceptable means.   The balance of the purchase and pick up will be within two weeks of the close of the auction on eBay.

If you have any questions. please ask.   I may be reached at 250-688-0229.   My name is David

Happy bidding!
