Pontiac : Firebird Formula Hood

Carbon Classics is proud to offer for sale this 1971 Firebird.   Carbon Classics was founded in 2013 with the goal of building affordable modernized classics.   Our focus is on durability. reliability and modern amenities.   We try and offer the best value upgrades.   In this vein. we have done a few things worth noting (and a lot of regular restoration work as explained below).

We added the Atomic MSD fuel injection system with fuel pump and MSD Digital 6A ignition box to a 400ci Pontiac motor.   The fuel injection system keeps getting better with more mileage and time as the computer learns and adjusts.   We added and upgraded a Pioneer Bluetooth radio that works for streaming music or taking calls (microphone is installed as well).  We also put in sound deadening throughout the interior. We installed 17”x9. 5” Year One wheels with brand new Nitto 275/40/17's all the way around.  As shown in the pictures we upgraded the aesthetics by shaving the side marker lamps. smoking the parking lamps. and clear coating the tail lights.   For the paint job we used the exact colors of the “Eleanor” Mustang – pepper gray metallic. To my knowledge. this has never been done before on a firebird.

In addition to the modern upgrades which aren't over the top but tasteful add-ons that make driving the car much more enjoyable. we have also restored the body repairing and replaced many parts including:

The engine is not the original engine. but it's a 400 Pontiac Motor with an Edelbrock performer intake. definitely not a stock cam (installed by previous owner). headers. HEI distributor and M/T Valve Covers.

The transmission is a rebuilt TH400 with a shift kit.   Shifts awesome!  It's got a B&M shifter on it.  

Rear is a GM 10 bolt with 3. 73 gears and posi.  

Suspension has oversized sway bars front and rear. and everything is pretty new and/or tight.   All has been gone over and no issues.  

Power Brakes: Disc up front. Drums in the rear.  

Interior is mostly stock - seats were reupholstered and came out great.   Back seat has a small rip in it at the top and is hard to see unless pointed out. but otherwise in very good condition.   Headliner is brand new. but the install is an 7 of 10.   Could have been better.   Carpet is new. package tray is new. console was a used replacement. all the trim is cleaned up or new.

All the Weatherstripping is brand new.   Most of the rubbers - trunk rubbers. hood rubbers etc are brand new.   Window felts. etc.   The front and rear spoilers are also all brand new.   Rear bumper was painted body color.

Overall this Firebird has a flawless body with a show quality paint job. The paint and body are a 10/10. The engine/trans are an 8. 5/10 and then interior is an 8/10. The only thing it needs is an owner who is going to enjoy it.
