Plymouth : GTX GTX Cone

This 1967 Plymouth is a true "California Time Capsule".

I bought it about a year ago near Sacramento from a Father who had put the car in dry storage for over 10 years anticipating his son would want to restore it later.   Unfortunately. his son grew up loving to restore old Ford Muscle cars more than Mopars. and when they needed more cash to open a restoration business. I came along and liberated this sweet old Plymouth.   

I was extremely pleased at the condition of this car.   A very well optioned 1967 Belvedere body. this Satellite retains it's HP 383 4 barrel. Hemi 4 speed. and 742 case "sure-grip" rear-end.   The bucket seats were still intact. and there was no major rust on the car anywhere.   The glass is all nice. and trim moldings and door panels (although not installed) were fairly in-tact.  

The 1st thing I did was change the oil. spark-plugs. filters and ignition system.   Receipts show that a valve job was done in 2003 (shortly before storage).   A flush of the fuel system. then a little fresh fuel - and the motor roared to life - and ran really well.   I rebuilt the Edelbrock Carburetor (which was leaking) and bled the brakes - then drove the car through all it's gears (very fun. and ran and drove nice) - but I quickly confirmed that it needs new brake and master cylinders (and would be a great candidate for a 4 wheel disc brake conversion).     

So I decided to transform this car into a GTX Clone.   1st I ordered a Hemi hood scoop (cost $413) then new carpet and a driver's side quarter panel.   It was professionally installed to correct a minor "puncture / dent previously caused when the car fell off a jack many years ago).   See pics of primered quarter. and inside rust-free trunk and under-body.    

I also purchased brand new boss "American Racking" Style wheels with 255 / 50 R 18 Toyo tires on rear. and new 225  55 R17 Toy tires on the front.   I think it gives the car an excellent stance!   

The only very minor corrosion I could find was two additional "half-dime" sized punctures near the clutch pedal (near where a driver's left foot heel would rest). this piece was also removed with a die-grinder. and a patch was welded and sealed into place.   Two smaller "pin holes" are also located in the same area on the passenger side (which is being repaired now).   If you look closely at pics of the passenger quarter panel. down low behind the rear wheel. you can see where very minor body work will also be required here prior to paint.   

This car is an excellent winter project!  I'm only selling because I have so many others going on.   Title is clear. and in my name.

Please check my feedback and bid with confidence.   I would be willing to keep these tires and wheels. and sell the car for less with the stock style 14" tires and wheels that it came with.
