This automobile is a beautiful example of the transition to the Art Deco designs of the mid 30's.   It is one the early designs of an aerodynamic body design.   This 1936 Hupmobile was built as an autorama show vehicle.   It was first shown at the Boston Autorama in the fall of 1935.

This Hupmobile has had a sheltered life.   The car was purchased by a gentleman who saw the car at the Autorama and purchased it from a local dealer after the show.   He drove the car to Fort Worth Texas where he was stationed in the army.   He later drove the car to his home in Hicksville. Ohio.   Due to the death of a loved one. who admired the car. nbsp;the car was driven sparingly.   The car was stored in a wood floor barn for years.

Upon his death. I purchased the car from his estate.   I refurbished the car in the winter of 1979-80.   I showed the car in local car shows in the summer and won several trophies.   In the fall I wrote to the ACD Museum in Auburn Indiana to offer the 1936 Hupmobile for display which they accepted.   The car was on display there until 1997.   I only removed the Hupp for my daughters wedding in 1990.

In the fall of 1997 I wrote to the Kokomo Automobile Museum in Kokomo Indiana to offer the Hupp for display at there new venture museum.   They accepted and the car has been on display there since.   If you have a chance to visit a well organized and beautiful selection of collectors car. nbsp;you must visit the museum. and or yes while you are there take a good look at my 1936 Hupmobile Deluxe Sedan.   Thank you for looking.

Note:  This car has not been driven much in the last 30 years.   It would take a some minor maintenance to get it road worthy again.
