This is a VERY RARE '58 Dodge D100 Short Bed that I found in a small town here in Utah.  There's plenty of old mid-fifties Ford F100's and Chevy 3100's out there but how often to you see an old Dodge??!!  Of all the old trucks I've owned over the years this is by far one of the coolest.  I think what makes this such a fun truck is that you rarely ever see an old Dodge … not to mention the patina on this truck is amazing!  I was going to clay bar the entire truck and cover it in few coats of clear coat to seal in those sweet colors.  I had great plans to get this one on the road again but plans have changed.  This is such a fun truck that I've had families and couples do picture shoots with it.
The truck is incredibly solid with very minimal rust spots.  The typical places these old mid-fifties trucks tend to rust is not evident on this one.  The cab corners are rock solid and the bed is in great shape.  I've crawled all over this truck and the frame is solid as is the undercarriage.  The rear window glass is in great shape as are the two door vent windows.  The windshield and both door windows are cracked/broken.  Both door window tracks are intact.
Everything appears to be there but the truck has been stored in a storage building for many years without being driven.  I haven't done anything mechanically to try and start it.  For all I know it may just need a thorough tune-up. a battery. and TLC to get it running again.  The previous owner said it ran when he put it in storage nearly 29 years ago and was last started about 12 years ago.  The tires hold air just fine but will definitely need replacing before hitting the road.  According to the older gentleman I purchased the truck from the Flathead engine is original to the truck.
The driveshaft is not installed but is included in the sale along with a small box of misc parts.  The original bench seat (with a new cover) comes with the truck.  I removed it to take the picures of the cab floor to show how solid the floor and cab corners are.
They (whoever "they" are) say pictures are worth 1000 words so I've taken nearly 60 detailed pictures (PhotoBucket) of the truck inside and out.  Simply contact me and request the photos.  Ebay only allows up to 24 photos within the listing and they don't allow attaching a "link" within the listing.  Sorry for the hassle.  There are plenty of pictures of the undercarriage included in the photo bucket as well as many more detail shots of the truck.

Most of your questions will probably be answered by looking through all the detailed pictures.  What you see. is what you get.  There's nothing to hide here.  This truck is definately a worthy foundation for a full restoration or it would make a great shop truck / rat rod / hot rod.
If you're looking for a cool mid-fifties truck to cruise and show. that nobody else has. then this might be the one for you.
Please have funds. and permission. in place before bidding.  If you have any questions. please don't hesitate to ask and I'm happy to discuss the truck on the phone with serious bidders.  Remember. the truck does not currently run.  It's relatively light and easy to push.  I'm happy to assist your transport in getting the truck loaded. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I will do all I can on my end to make things go smoothly.  I'm located just a few minutes off  I-15 and accessible for large transports.
I have a clear Utah title in hand for the truck from the previous owner.  It will be sold with both the Utah Title and a Utah Bill of Sale

ADDITIONAL INFO:
I've had a couple of emails stating that the truck is a 1959 model D100 and not a 1958.  I verified the VIN on the original VIN plate on the inside of the driver's side door frame and it matches the original Utah Title. showing the truck as a 1958.  However. in one of the emails I received a gentleman was good enough to offer an explanation as to the model year confusion.  I've posted it below:
"It looks pretty solid. What you have there is a '59 model though. the dash and grill are different from a '58. Dodge tended to do their production line change overs before the official beginning of the new model year so it's not all that uncommon to find "next year's truck" titled as last year's when the stars didn't align correctly. I have a '68 that's titled as a '67. same deal - early in the production run. "

Here is some additional info from the same gentleman that cleared the air on the model year.
"Sure man. feel free to post it if you want. It'll be helpful for the buyer to know. A lot of the parts are the same. but there are a bunch of little things that are specific to the 58's. From 59 to 60 they pretty much just changed the grill. 59 was a real low production model year. so they tend to be the least common of that three year "Power Giant" body style. but a lot of the interior parts and little trim pieces are easier to get because that dash was used on all Town Wagons/Town Panels into the late 60's and that same cab was in production well into the 70's for use on heavy trucks like the Big Horn semi. "

(THANKS FOR THE INFO !!)
I also have the horizontal grille insert that fits in the opening just above the front bumper.

More feedback from fellow eBay'er confirming that the truck is indeed a 1959 model titled as a 1958. Thank you for the input and additional clarification!!
Your source is correct. your truck is a 59. 1959 is also the first year for the fleetside bed. Also 58 had glovebox in the middle. with matching oblong aluminum panels on driver's and passenger side. 58 grille had 3 bars that closely resemble the lower bar that you mention. plus the same lower bar as the 59. I don't know about later models. but 58 had knock-outs punched on passenger side for easier conversion to right-hand drive. for export purposes. That's a pretty solid looking truck you've got. good luck with the sale!

CONSIDERING THE HELPFUL INPUT FROM DODGE ENTHUSIASTS IT'S SAFE TO SAY THAT THIS DODGE
D100 IS A 1959 MODEL TITLED AS A 1958.
I've also learned that 1959 was a lower production year for the D100 making it even a bit more rare than originally thought. :)
BID TO WIN. RESERVE IS SET VERY FAIR TO MOVE IT ALONG.
